Hi All,
I recently obtained a 2000HD with an Amiga Toaster in it. I got it back working and all. It has a hard drive with Toaster Software in it. Anyway, I bought a set of Toaster 2.0 disks only and a Toaster 2.0 manual. However, when I turned on my machine and got in the Video Toaster software, it states to be 3.0. Oops. Well, I noticed that the software was a little sluggish on my 030/40Mhz machine. So, two things. 1st what is the advantage of using 3.0 over 2.0 (what features) and would putting 2.0 on my system help with running it a little? The switcher is fine but when I go to CG it seems to be a little slow (lagging a tad).
Thanks.

An 030 was pretty standard for Toasters back in the day. I don't know much about the version history, but I think 3.0 was the version launched with the Toaster 4000, so it'll include lots of performance improvements for the 32-bit 68K chips. Check some of the mags from back then (http://www.bombjack.org/commodore/amiga/magazines/video-toaster-user.htm) to see what they reported.

IMHO 3.1 was the best non-Flyer version. For purely live production, that's the one I'd use.
I'd think it would be OK with an 030/40. I doubt it's significantly slower, but it's been a long time.
