I have a DVD player box that an A1000 will fit into leaving about1 inch on every side. If I filled the extra space with packing peanuts or chunks of old styrofoam or wrap the A1000 in bubble wrap, will that be sufficient packaging to protect the A1000 during shipping?
I'm also looking for someone to ship the A1000 to. :-)

I would NOT ship it like that! I have seen better packed equipment totally messed up at arrival.

But....how *would* you pack it then?

I think if you can get solid polystyrene in there, it's better than peanuts. Also, I don't know how the A1000 case opens or whatever, but consider putting cable ties round it or something, stress during delivery mangled a PC I bought on eBay once, and a simple cable tie round the machine would have prevented it.
Also, make sure you mark the box 'THIS SIDE UP'. Lots of things get shipped upside down and absolutely slaughtered in carriage because of that too.

USA. If anyone wants it, PM me and I'll give the details.

Look at how monitors are shipped and take that as an example.

So chunks of styrofoam are the way to go then? All my monitors come in boxes with big ol' slabs of shaped styrofoam.
