what video card are you using, out of curiosity? what screen resolution do you use? how is your monitor connected: DVI or VGA?

Using radeon 4650. Through hdmi resolution was set to 1280 by???

@AmigoSteve
i wonder if the installer accidently overwrote your radeonHD driver with an older copy. update 4 dates back several months before version 0.53 of hans' radeonHD driver, which i thought was the first to support the 4650, although i could be wrong. or maybe your monitor selection got hosed. either way you could attach a monitor to the onboard graphics or use the early startup menu to be able to access your system and reinstall the most recent version of the driver.
of course i'm just a normal user like yourself, so this is all just guesswork on my part. have you tried asking the developers in the hyperion support forum (http://support.amigaos.net/)? they're usually very good about replying fairly quickly. you can also try asking the guys at amigans.net (http://www.amigans.net), another place where the developers tend to hang out.

I dont think that is the case because I have the radeon 0.32 driver. i was going to go through the updates and then install the 0.53 driver afterwards.

If I take the radeon out I only have VGA I can use which doesn't work. Prob need to find a VGA cable and old monitor or something.

well, that blows my theory. ;)
in truth i've never heard of anything like this. it sounds like the monitor is trying to sync to a resolution it doesn't like. i'd head over to the support forum and try over there unless anyone else here has any helpful suggestions.
