Title: Fast ATA install issue
Post by: Lurch on January 26, 2013, 02:46:45 AM
Not sure if this should be under hardware or software ;-) Probably software

Have been trying to install the drivers for it but get the error the HELP argument is not available :-(

I'm using AmigaSYS AmigaOS 3.9 if that helps?

Added a screenshot :-)

The script uses an undocumented "feature" of the Commodore installer (the documentation says that every instruction needs a help text, but the script does not supply a help text for the copylib instruction). The replacement Installer you are using does not support this. Copy the origirnal Installer from your OS 3.9 CD and try again.

There's only ATA3.driver in C: and ATA3Prefs in Prefs: that need copying over. I'd just copy them manually and edit the startup-sequence manually. Doesn't really require an installation script. ;)

@ Thomas thought I was using the default 3.9 installer, unless one of the update packs changes it. But will try that.

@ paul1981 awesome this is all I probably need :-) Now all I need to do is to determine what version of the FastATA I have ;-)

Wow so I copied over the installer from the AmigaOS 3.9 disc and it's working. So I'm wondering now what update would have changed the installer.

Must be the custom 3 and 4 biong bags?

Will reinstall them and see which one does it :-)
