Hi Everyone,
I'm just getting back into the Amiga scene after twenty years away, and I have a few questions, which I hope you guys can help me with.
Ok, so here is where i am up to so far.I've just picked up an A1200, and it is a great machine. It is an early one, so I have ordered the 3.1 kickstart for it, also an internal Compact Flash reader and I already own a 4gig card, which has been formatted, and I've managed to install workbench 3.1 and whdload under winuae. The machine also has a 4mb ram expansion.
So first question - how do you get around the 4 gig partition limit? I see some people have managed to install large capacity 2.5 hard disks?
Secondly, what is the deal with accelerators and ram expansion these days?I have been looking at the ACA 1232 Accelerator with 128MB RAM from amiga kit, is this the way to go? Thinking Amiga OS 3.5 might be nice? Are there any modern FPGA type solutions available / on the horizon in terms of accelerators?
Thanks :)

I guess it would be ok for retro gaming and small tinkering. For an other option I'd look for used Blizzard cards (B1230, B1260...).

I don't see any point in OS3.5. Either choose OS3.9 or stick with OS3.1. 3.1 is more slick with 030 and can be expanded pretty much to the same level with 3.5/3.9 with 3rd party software.
