I think it's a bit sad.
-
And judging by the amount of negative votes compared to positive for that video I would say a lot of people agree with you about it being sad :/

I don't get Microsoft with their net advertising. It's like they try to copy everyone possible from five years earlier. Remember when they tried to get a viral video going of their employees in a Microsoft store doing a "spontaneous" dance.
Sad
Their os is on the majority of consumer computers. People buy their os every day. You would think they would be able to employ a better media and advertising department.
-
They don't even need to advertise. They'd be further ahead taking that marketing budget and using it to hire some outside consultants to help them fix their awful user experience.
-
Desperately sad. But the singer is not half bad.
Plaz
-
Sad in that it was a horrible advert and for the fact that every attack they make towards Google, also falls back upon Microsoft as well.
-
it was a horrible and sad...
-
I'm just annoyed I actually clicked on it and watched half of it yesterday.

Yet another weird one from Microsoft's film department. But the argument they're making is 100% valid: Cloud apps are not safe for business use. If Google's service goes down, my business goes down. That's unacceptable.
The hypocrisy is that Microsoft is encouraging users to move to cloud versions of Office, which would be subject to the same risks and dangers as Google apps. Clearly whoever commissioned this movie isn't communicating properly with their cloud services team.
-
Lack of internal communication and coordination with Microsoft? Unthinkable!

It is no secret that the internal divisions within Microsoft are operated independently... Each product has to compete for internal budgets on their own merits. I seem to remember that The big three are Windows, office and XBox... I have little doubt that the online services division is treated like a red headed stepchild compared to the cash cow that is office!
-
Find it more sad that Amiga folks are essentially a years back on stuff in regards to modern computing.
Video is a year old nearly. It's not getting any better, or more relevant.
-
The cloud is just Pi in the sky thats why I never trust this guy

But it seems to be the Office team that's pushing customers to move to the cloud - Office 365. That's the strange/amusing/scary part - it's the same division that seems to be in conflict with itself.
At any rate, whenever some cloud service goes down and people start complaining, I always want to post this image. With Zynga announcing closure of most of their "apps" (read: imminent bankruptcy) in recent days and people complaining about all the stuff they bought with real money going to digital oblivion, it seems especially appropriate.
