Hey all,
Well i picked up a 3k last night and of course it had battery leakage. Was resetting and getting getting yellow screen.
I took it all apart, removed the battery, cleaned the area, fixed some traces, reseated all of chips, and now it boots to a white screen.
The two mouse button on boot doesnt work and i can press caps lock ~14 times before it stops responding.
It looks like it has the 1.4 kickstart roms, and i have seen people say their 3k will boot to white if the HD is not attached, or DF0 not present. The hard drive may be bad though, i have tried with/without the floppy.
I tried:
-Switching the jumper for tick/vsync
-With/without Zorro riser
-31k/15k out
-31k enable/disable
-pal/ntsc jumper
-every combo of above
I have read that 27c400's are drop in eprom replacements for the kickstart roms?
I think i have some lying around i can try so i can upgrade to a newer kickstart.
Any suggestions?

ROM tower? It's very easy to plug that in wrong...

I remember mine having such issue, it was one of the screw that was in contact with the motherboard, we put a piece of paper in between and it worked fine.

You will get a yellow screen without booting if the daughter board is not installed.
The EPROMs need to be 150 ns or faster by the way.

You will also get a Yellow screen if the motherboard crystal is not seated properly. Push it down firmly.

Congrats on your new cool a3000!
The good news is white screen means its past most of the initialization tests and its almost booting!
Oh and if you have 1.4 roms then your rom is Soft kicked so you could actually put a softkicked 3.1 or 3.9 install afaik.
