Hello Everyone,
I have three MC68LC060RC66 CPUs here that I de-soldered from the "Nortel Meridian 1 CP NT5D03FB RLSE 02 128MB/64F" boxes that I got on eBay. I also have three perfect '060 heat sinks, some crystal oscillators and other TTL parts off of these babies.
Anyhoo, I have heard and read about the different '060 masks - these are labelled "75G59Y". I haven't heard about those. I doubt these would be fakes - Nortel most likely would have some sort of quality control in their buying process - at least I hope.
1) Would these be suitable (or work at all) on the FPGA Arcade board if I bought it bare?
2) If anyone else have any of these that they have overclocked, and if so - to what?
3) Does anyone else want one of these?
Any comments would be appreciated!

Should overclock quite well.
At least 80MHz and possibly as high as 100.
Has MMU.
May not have FPU.
Only works in surface mount applications (some accelerators).
How much?

These are PGA, so they should also be socketable (is that a word?) They need to have the legs cleaned off a bit first though.
The boards they came off of had 33.3333MHz Xtals - which is odd, as I have not seen a X2 circuit to clock a CPU before, only a /2. I wonder if they were only ever run at 33MHz in that Nortel box.
Don't know what's fair for them. I would be open to offers.

The PCN for that mask would seem to be this:

The only issue with that mask is that the pinouts changed on the QFP parts. So it doesn't affect those.

There is an LC (Low-Cost) version, without an FPU[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motorola_68060#cite_note-2) and EC (Embedded Controller), without MMU and FPU

As far as i know those CPU can work on Apollo boards with special libs made for noFPU 060 (there was a special version of the Apollo 1260 with a 68060 LC75 MHz by the time).
Phase 5 libs should not work with it or may crash when an FPU is expected.

Buggy phase 5 lib. Maybe could be patched by a competent haxx0r :)

ThoR's Mu 68060.library, 680x0.library and mmu.library should auto detect no FPU and work. The 680x0 docs says it's smart enough to detect EC processors anyway. You should probably read the Mu Libs docs if you want to know more. ThoR, the author, is still active and at the same e-mail address in the docs if there are any problems.

LC support was added yesterday in the 68060.library v66.13 : http://leblogdecosmos.blogspot.fr/2012/12/68lc060-apollo.html
Special LC060.library supplied with the LC Apollo 75 Mhz module is not required anymore now

How many Chinese fakes can you buy before it costs more than the digigold? ;)
