Nope.
Atom based netbooks can be had  for $100 or less.
I have two that I bought cheap and a Dell CoreDuo 15" laptop I got for $40.

Oh, unlike yours, mine wasn't stolen; I bought it directly from HP for $299, added the RAM and upgraded the Windows 7 Starter to Home Premium at my own cost. The joystick came from Vesalia.

True, but the bottom dropped out of the netbook market a year or two ago.  When people stopped buying them they left stores and manufacturers with piles of unsold inventory.  Bottom line, there's tons of supply and little to no demand.
