Title: A1200 Elbox 1200/0-8 not booting
Post by: splashdust on December 10, 2012, 11:11:47 PM
Hi! I'm new to Amiga modding and could really use som help.
I just bought a used Elbox 1200/0-8 card with 8MB. The RTC battery has leaked and is removed, but the seller assured me that the card is working. Here is a picture of the card: http://img.tradera.com/mega/128/155284128_1.jpg (http://img.tradera.com/mega/128/155284128_1.jpg)

When I power on my A1200 with the card inside, nothing happens. Just a black screen. Then I tried to start with the card, but without the EDO memory installed. That gives me a red screen that says "Expansion board diagnostic", and a table with a line that says that the board is defective. I also tried various combinations of the jumpers and found that the system will boot if I remove the "RAM" jumper, but it will not detect the memory. I've tested two different power supplies, one for the A1200 and one that is for an A600.

Besides from testing the card in another A1200 (which I don't have access to), is there anything else that I could try? Or perhaps someone in here knows if there are any compatibility issues with this card in regard to ROM version or mobo revisions?
