Post by: utri007 on December 01, 2012, 10:21:37 AM
Is that sidecar a rare? at least I haven't seen one before.  Can it be used as a hd controller on amiga side?

Moderately rare.

It is best used as a slow PC emulator. If you want a HD for the Amiga, buy something else.

It is "rare" as a collector's item, especially one in good shape.

As far as a useful item, not really. OK, that was optimistic; it is worthless. A CBM Colt 10 or 20 is far more useful and takes up less space.

If you need recommendations on a hard disk controller for a 1000, just start a new thread; if you want to buy one then start that thread in Marketplace or on Amibay

well they are rare in my parts at least but they were very limited to emulating old PC XT programs & not that useful nowadays but cool for the collector & AMIGA fan for sure

Yes, it could generate a fairly large sum of cash from a serious collector.  But they are going to want it in pristine condition externally.
