Title: Workbench icons are making me angry
Post by: Dalamar on January 24, 2004, 05:35:13 AM
Hi all. I'm having frustrating problems with the Workbench Icons for Ram Disk and my two Hard Drives.  I've installed PowerIcons and have replaced the Disk.info files in all three places with the ones I want.  I have snapshotted the icons, the window, all... but everytime I reboot I get generic icons again.  I hit "Information" on the icon menu for each device, and it then replaces the icon with the PowerIcon that I copied there.  Is this a normal thing or am I missing something.  I can't make it just have the right icons at startup.  Arg!!

Sorry, my experience replacing workbench icons is zero.

Thanks!

try to look at this thread about the ramdisk icon.

I don't have that problem with harddrives though, but there is also a standard icon for those you coul change like described for the ramdisk in that thread.

Have you made sure the PowerIcons patch is put before LoadWB in the startup-sequence and not in the LoadWB directory (or folder as it's called in the MS world).

Your problems wouldn't lie with anything missing from Prefs:Sys/DefIcons, would it?

That was where I set customized RAM Disk icons in OS3.1
