Title: Amiga 500 Expansion Board 2MB
Post by: CJK3o3 on November 18, 2012, 10:41:46 AM
I saw this on an internet auction :
http://www.galerieallegro.pl/zdjecia/Galeria/941208/1
It's a 2mb expansion board but the dude selling it says it requires some sort of an adaptor for the gary socket. He is not selling the adaptor but I have one a500 8a mainboard with something like that inserted under the gary chip and a single wire coming out from it thats not connected to anything. Another wire is soldered to the jp2 jumper on the mobo.

Does anybody know if i buy this thing - will it work with what I already have?

So you have a revision 8 board which is a 500+, which will give you 2MB chip just by purchasing a 1MB expansion for the trapdoor.

Never had any success using a gary adapter RAM expansion with the 500+, better off purchasing Toms or kippers 8MB addon.

New and cheaper than what you are looking at.

Wow!  These are pretty amazing products, and great prices!  Wish there was a directory of sites like this, or that places like Amigakit would carry all these products, so people could actually find them to buy them.  ;)
