Thats right, I dare you to come to #Amiga.org right now (intructions on the left) and say a minimum of 25lines of conversation before you leave. Sure we know what you're missing, but you dont.... or do you.... ahhh, either way. I double darez ya. Best times between 9am and 3pm EST.
-
me daring to come to Aorg? :-? :-? :-?
-
That place is scary... ;-)
-
I'll go if punkie goes! :-)
-
Maybe it was just me, but last time I logged on I just felt like everyone stopped talking when I appeared.
This reconstituted pot-rice snack tastes like marajuana, but I think that's also just me :-)

Yup, first ask, then think! ;-)
En pas maar op! Straks komen we met de bietenwagen en dan krijg je klap op je bek met een klomp! ;-)

If I had a mIRC vulnerability hack I could clear #amiga.org in 10 seconds flat. ;)
I suppose its a sign of the times that people use PCs to IRC... but mIRC?? :-o
-
I haven't been using IRC on PCs for ages, and last I remember mIRC was THE IRC client to use. What's so bad about it nowadays, anyway?
I mostly use AmIRC on my A4000DT.
-
What's so bad about it (mIRC) nowadays, anyway?
Well, I could start a whole rant on that myself, but I'll cut it short: it bastardises IRC standards with useless and badly thought out features that nobody uses and which break every other IRC client out there.
-
That, I remember about it. :-) A "feature" packed iRC client! :-)

It does seem to happen, but what's really happening is that you dropped in at the end of a conversation. Converstaions are cunning like that. :-P

Please stop talking out of your arse.
Sure, we have few mirc users, but most people use proper IRC clients.
-
@TPG

Purely coincidental, I'm sure.
Some times there's just not a whole lot talk about ... so we don't :-)
-
@blomberg
If it wasn't rude to come into an IRC channel and version everyone, I'd show you who is talking out of their arse.
-
Is there something in the water? Why are you guys getting steamed over an IRC client?
:-?
-
In IRC clients you can hide your version.

Darn, didn't think you noticed!!! :nervous:

-
We could get a beer at de grote griet or something ... Maybe odin will join in aswell ...
-
Great, but Odin's and my fav pub is "O'Callaegh's"
-
I'm all in favour :-).
-
But what if I don't wanna cyber with other Amiga users?

How is that you think you know everything about #Amiga.org? I don't recall ever having seeing you there.

This weekend, 24/1?
-
No .. next weekend ...
Lemme try and arrange something with some friends ... would be nice to meet up :-)
Now we're on the subject ... a few days ago i was thinking about going to the UK for a weekend and meet some (#)AO regulars ... If we take the car on the boat or train it couldn't be that expensive ...
Thoughts anyone ? :-)
-
Well done Kees - good team Ajax :-D
-
Yes, while we are on the subject. ... I dont see anyone joining. Come on people, we got 20 dudes sitting there talking away, and a few who're new guys looking for help. For just 1$ a day you...sorry, channeling TV again. Come on guys... join #amiga.org when you see this and join the party. We had 1 guy join today who was new and he made it onto the major stats list for the channel in an hour. If thats not worth while traffic lvls, what is? Join the party people...uhh...people...
-

That's 'cos it doesn't taste like marijuana and it hasn't written 25 lines of text yet, Chris.

this thread is confusing me :-?
then again, it's not hard to confuse me :-D
-
Hey Kees, what about us Americans??? We like to drink REAL beer too, you know.
Who's gonna buy my ticket?? *batting eyelashes*
I'll give you a 'I'm in Amiga Club' T-Shirt and a 50$ off coupon towards OS4.0 :-P
I'll make sure it's 'on schedule and rockin'
:roflmao:
-
WHen I get my good PC back, I'll join you peeps in #amiga.org. You have been pre-warned, and have 5 days to prepare your defences.

I'd love to, but not longer than a weekend.

Maybe this thread wasn't such a good idea afterall ... ;-)

Well you could get the ferry to Hull, or to Kent (which is where I live). Depends on what else you want to see in the UK... If you want to go to London, Dover etc would be best, otherwise Hull is cheaper IIRC. I think its also possible to get the boat right up to the NE (Newcastle/Tyneside area)
Regards
Oh, almost forgot, you can also get the channel tunnel, but you would have to drive through Belgium and Northern France to get the train from Calais.
-

You're assuming I used my real name. If your 'real IRC client' shows hostnames you might have a better chance of spotting me. ;)
-
A quick /version #amiga.org revealed 3 mIRC users, many use XChat and 'guest' people use the web interfaces.
-
Heh, I thought that was you, Mr. p851546 (bot@=1kctpm68-415-37-72.in-addr.btopenworld.com

You forgot AmIRC and Klient. And then there's the people that are +M
-
Well, I didn't forget them but didn't mention, yes. There are quite a few AmIRC users indeed. XChat just seems to be quite popular among ppl who aren't using AmigaOS, prolly because it resembles AmIRC.

no that was me, testing something out :-)
-
Oh, nevermind, then. :-)
-
Hmm.... I get the feeling that no one ever talking in the channel is probably a good part of the reason why no one goes there. I know it's grown discouraging to me...
-
Hi,
If I get AmIRC working on MorphOS with a proxy I am there a lot. Is
there any other IRC prog that does the trick or is AmIRC the best?
Coder
-
@Ilwrath
You must've come there at a bad time .. there's plenty of talk while everyone isn't sleeping or at work (at least a job where one can't IRC at the same time ;-) ).
Not saying you were one of them, but there are really many people who join the channel, wait 8 seconds and if no one happens to say anything, leave. It's not like there's constant, 24/7 chat going on, but that doesn't mean there aren't people there - so feel free to start a new conversation everyone.
-
Hi,
The IRC-Stats page seems to be off-line. Can there also be a link to
it here on Amiga.org?
Coder
-
i've also set up another cgiirc (web interface) for #amiga.org with a 2 hour timeout (instead of 5 min)
/me watches kees duck :-D
-
Thoughts anyone ?
All the time, but I'd better not say them in a public forum.... ;-) :-D
-
Hi sir_inferno,
How about a link? :-)
Coder
-
Coder, try this one (http://ajk.daug.net/amiga/index.php).
-
Hi ajk,
Thnx! This stats page should be mentioned on Amiga.org. Right?

How about flying with RyanAir from Groningen airport :-). If you books a few weeks ahead you can fly very cheaply. Then again.....I don't have any cash at all to spend. I'll take a raincheck on this plan :-/.
-
i'm in there talking to TB right now
i dont see whats so scary :-?
-
Well considering in 5 days 1 users typed 10,000 words alone I would say traffic is steady. The only time there isnt much traffic is when people are alseep, and with more peopple from NZ/Ozy joining that gap will be filled. So what are you lot waiting for? Join join join!
-
/me takes a bow...
you know sometimes I do actually forget im not on IRC ;-)
-
Ryu, Seeing you're now a moderator and this is a topic bout the Amiga.org IRC channel (where the chatting is as good as it gets...for that particular channel), then maybe a alteration to your sig is in order :)
-
nah, #AmiHelp is my IRC home, though I do sometimes wonder why I bother.... :-)
-
At the time of typing this there are 21 people in the channel and its VERY busy. Join in...whatcha got to lose cept some time and the use of your fingers.
