Sigh... I received another update on this book with some disappointing news.
This book was scheduled to be released last Christmas, then pushed back to this Christmas (10/2012), then 01/2013, and now it looks like 07/2013.
I've seen this pattern before when a book eventually gets cancelled. I hope that is not the case here.
This is what I received from Amazon today:
We're writing about the order you placed on October 02, 2012 (Order# ######). Unfortunately, the release date for the item(s) listed below has changed, and we need to provide you with a new delivery estimate based on the new release date:

Just wanted to post an update.

Let's write our own and release it first.

It's sad that this book keeps getting pushed back. Maybe they are adding more to it? But I agree that a pattern of push backs like this usually result in one eventuality.
If we do write our own then can we avoid cusa lol.

Perhaps a bit OT, but here's a recent audio interview with Jimmy Maher, author of that excellent tome from MIT, "The Future Was Here".

I'm not surprised. The previous volume and its first edition slipped like crazy, too. I expect they'll miss this date as well. Such is the nature of small publishing. Let's hope the delay is worth it - the editing (or lack thereof) of the other books left much to be desired.
Nailed it! (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=63191)
