Post by: BartmaNBrowN on November 07, 2012, 04:52:17 AM
hi there!

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to part or know of any of these specific monitors for sale?

i'm still on the look out for either 1084S D1 (With white badge), 1084S D2, 1085, 1940, or 1942

as well as an original commodore branded RGB cable with the metal ends 23 pin to 9 pin.

Thanks a bunch!!

If you have difficulties getting such a cable, you can make one yourself quite easily. you only have to connect 6 wires (Red, Green, Blue, Composite Sync and 2x ground), from the 23 pin connector to the 9 pin connector:
Ground: (pins 16-20) => (pins 1 & 2)
Red: 3 => 3
Green: 4 => 4
Blue: 5 => 5
Composite Sync 10 => 7

Though as the 23pin connector isn't available anymore, you can alter a 25 pin connector with a hacksaw or a dremel

@BartmaNBrowN

Are you in Australia? If so, where abouts? I dont have a monitor I want to sell but I can ask around the Adelaide community.

Hey there!

I live in Whitehorse , Yukon, Canada, I don't mind paying a bit more for shipping as everything has to be flown in here anyways :-)

Hey there!

As luck would have it I just found an original commodore RGB cable on EBay :-) thanks for the response though, it's good to know how to make a new cable when this one craps out eventually.

Thanks a lot ! :-)

I often see people referring to a 9pin dsub connector on their commodore monitors, but every single one of the dozens I've seen/used have a 6pin DIN connector.
Is that just a regional thing?
