Hello all!
I made a small poll to check interest in buying new PowerPC hardware to the classic platform. I would much appriciate if you would like to participate. Just answer yes or no.

I always think new Amiga HW (that is, HW for classics, not the junk that gets passed off as "Amiga" or PCs with the Amiga name on them) is cool. So here's at least one vote for yes.
Heck count mine as two if you can figure out a seamless way for the PPC to run a JIT 68k emulation at boot (optionally) so the thing runs faster than the fastest 060 for people who have no interest in OS4.
Count it as three votes if you shoehorn it into an unmodified A3000 desktop case, or an A2000!

hesitating but rather not. not anymore. however an fpga or an accelerator on whatever fast cpu running fast 68k emu from the firmware would interest me more.
in my opinion we have to reconsider the options. it has been pushed for so long that it has become customary to consider ppc the only option. the argument being a necessity to rewrite the whole os and the applications pool for a new architecture. i think amithlon has shown very well that amiga might be much better off if legacy 68k has become the common virtual platrform with as much backends on different hardware as there is interest for. the emulation overhead is of course a considerable part, but it could be outweight translating critical parts to the native code on each platform step by step.

Done.. :).

I agree with above. The Amithlon system is better.
We need a lot of people working on software and drivers. We don't need hardware that nothing will run on except a second rate emulator.
Use to like PowerPC, but don't care anymore.

I agree, an FGPA (or real 060) with an OS (AROS 68k) targeted for the CPU would be the way to go I think. There's way more 68k software to run than PPC software (and new 68k software is always being developed).

Hmm said yes but then I'm more an A500 man. It is very weird that the humble A500 is overlooked.
I'd like for someone to release a modern wedge case or even better tower conversion for it.
ACA 500, will it ever be :-/ So tempted to order an ACA card but knowing my luck the ACA 500 wont appear and I'll be stuck :-)

Thanks for all your answers!
I've sent a mail to Individual Computers about my poll. Here it is:
Dear Individual Computers,
I think I'm speaking for many of the Amiga community when I say I've long missed high-end expansion cards for the classic Amiga platform. I did this poll to check if I was right, and I was:

Is there any possibility that you could consider making a new 060 or 060/PPC card for A1200 (or A3000/A4000)? You could for example make a kickstart project out of it. As you can see in the poll, there are many people out there who would like to run AmigaOS 4.1 on their favorite machine.
Yours sincerely

well, but what do you want to achieve? jens is surely very well aware of the situation, likely better than any of us, since he does a real business in the fileld. he was frequently asked to develop a ppc accel replica and we know his answer (several 10k funds needed, he isnt going to invest) and we know his opinion about ppc on amiga (its been a mistake). so why bother?

I would rather see a 060 card but lack of 060's would be a problem, so I agree with wawrzon and NovaCoder.

Completely lost interest after I got a Pegasos2 G3, classic is cool with an 060 for demos and games thought...

The more I learn about this fellow, the more I respect him.

There is no lack of 68060s. There is only a lack of the newest 060s that can be clocked at 90MHz plus.

G3? Really? Give me an Amiga with a 100MHz 68060 using modern memory and a full speed PCI bus and you will be surprised at how little all those MHz do for you.
