I have the cash sitting in a PayPal account for immediate transfer. I am looking for a good working Phase 5 version of the CyberstormPPC, 233 and 060/50 model. I'd consider other speeds for slightly less money.
I will pay $600 including shipping imediately as long as the person is a known member of the community. Because of the possibilty of fraud, this offer is only to known members of the community in good standing.

Heh, Red, if *I* had a CSPPC, the first thing I would do is hound YOU for something to put it in. :-D
I don't have one, but if I had one to spare, it would be yours.
-
Hi red,
AFAIK,CSPPC Phase5 @233 Mhz, doesn't exists. Only OC one.
Ciao
-
@Framiga:
It does exist. Look at The Big Book of Amiga Hardware page for pictures of a 233Mhz 604e P5 PPC card.
-
Why only the Phase5 version? ... I think I know the answer but would like to confirm...
-
Does anyone know of an Amiga user with a working DCE CSPPC card? Repaired or not, doesn't matter. I'd really like to know. :-)

I've heard that the DCE models were 100% defective and were sold despite the fact.
-
What's so strange is that I've used DCE models of Blizzard 1260's and SCSI-IV kits, and they are by all means high quality products.
Why they decided to go cheap on the CSPPC cards is beyond me.
-
I have a CSPPC 604e @ 233 / 060 @ 50 of DCE build.
Every feature of the card works so far, thank god. I will be selling it, but I'm still using it to betatest OS4 for the A3000T/CSPPC combination.
If there is some sort of defect, then it's one I'm not aware of right now....
-
@Nerp!
I was thinking of you actually:-) This isn't the one with one with one bad SIMM socket then? Well you just proved that some of DCE's cards worked :-o
I really need one now.. Have a project ongoing that requires one ASAP.

I just got an emailed offer, a deal is pending :-)

Ok, the deal is not sealed, only a possibility i will find out about monday. In the meantime I am still open for offers. First come first serve. :-D

I have a CSPPC 604e @ 233 / 060 @ 50 of DCE build.
I believe my CSPPC (604e@200) is also of DCE build.
I haven't noticed any (out of the ordinary) stability issues with my card either.

But is it for sale?

I'll admit it's tempting for the amount these things go for, but I've put together a rather nice Mirage tower system I'm rather fond of.. (That, and I'm really strange when it comes to selling things I've spent considerable sums of cash on.)
Are you going to build up a system for OS4 or something?

hi x56h34 :-)

"Does anyone know of an Amiga user with a working DCE CSPPC card?"
answer : ME!
I have and use heavily a DCE factored CyberStorm PPC 233 - 68060/50 AND CyberVision PPC 8Mb with no problems at all since 1998 in my A4000D.
the only things I made immediately after purchase to it was :
- replace the bad quality PPC cooling fan (40x40mm, 1cm height, hooked on the dissipator with two plastic "things") by a 2cm height top class one hold on with four metalic screws.
- add a dissipator/fan combo to the 68060, albeit not really necessary as I haven't overclocked it :-)
- all fans are powered directly by the power supply (not by the ppc card anymore)
- I used dissipating grease between the two cpu and their dissipators (electronic one, high effiency, not conductive)
- looked for cold solders (found only one on the scsi chip)
- modifyed the intake holes (internals) of the power supply (commodore original one) to increase air flow.
- the four 32 Mb simms are all the same (model/brand/speed)
that's all :-D
I'm pretty happy of my card since nearly five years of flawlessly fonctionning now :-)
My A4000D (manufactured may 1992) is full (NO space/slots lefts in it) and run COOL has ice (yes yes) even after 24hours being on :-)

Nope, bought the one from Magnetic.

No, that CSPPC with the ram issue (presumably a bad ram socket) was a Phase5 one, which got sold quite awhile ago with my desktop A4000.
