Title: "The Amiga Works" By Allister Brimble Kickstarter Project
Post by: buzz on November 02, 2012, 07:33:13 PM
Allister Brimble (http://www.exotica.org.uk/wiki/Allister_Brimble) has just launched a Kickstarter project for his new double album "The Amiga Works". He will create up to date CD quality versions and remixes of his best musical works from the Commodore Amiga. The album artwork and an A2 poster will be designed by Rico Holmes who was the inspiration and artist behind the original Alien Breed series and other Team 17 games. Visit Allister's Kickstarter page (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2059538678/the-amiga-works).

Quote
"I have received many requests to create new versions of my tracks in the past, but I never felt I could improve on them.. until now. The technology exists to inspire me to create new versions of my tunes for these much loved games from the Commodore Amiga.
" - Allister Brimble

As a big fan of his work I am very excited about this project. Recommend you get over to the project page now and make a pledge! :)

Pledged. I've got the 1993 Sounds Digital album. I bought it at the Team17 stand at the World of Amiga (Or was that World of Commodore?) in London.

Allister's is exceptional, but I would want the original works rather than recreations :)

there wouldn't be much point in that as a project though since his original amiga tunes are already available :) But I realise you are being funny.

CDs are fine if they aren't mixed for MAXIMUM LOUDNESS.

It's often not the mixing that's at fault... It's brain dead mastering, where all the dynamics are compressed out to make the songs sound louder on the "radio" :(
