Title: Amiga500 red blinking power light
Post by: MrHH on January 23, 2004, 06:33:45 AM
Hi everyone,
I just pulled my beloved Amiga500 out of it's box after 6  years and it won't fire up!  I only have a gray screen and no "insert disk".

Can anyone give me an idea as to why the red power light is flashing?  I am thinking that the power pack is toast!?? HELP!
Thanks
Ed

you could give a shot with reseating rom chips..
if this won't help, you could try to tighen other chips - they may be loosen.. if you got additional 0,5MB meory, try to boot without it..

hope i helped a bit :-)

Yea basically...
Dark Grey Red (indicates error in ROM)
Light Grey Green (error in CHIP RAM)

Have a look here...http://mysite.freeserve.com/blobrana/database/startup.html (http://mysite.freeserve.com/blobrana/database/startup.html) :-D

Good luck!
