Hi guys,
Just received a built A608 2007 version.
The guy recommends to "Isolate the 2 oscillators before install."
How do I do this, and why should it be done?
-
I think it means put insulating tape over the two metal oscillators (square metal cans above the CPU) on the A600 motherboard to prevent them coming in contact with the A608 and shorting the board.

Insulating tape... like Electrical tape? Or double sided (sticky) tape? Thinking maybe the electrical tape would be too thin?
-
??? Double sided tape?? WTF made you say that? Heheh :)
"isolate" doesn't mean glue together. It means to make electrically separate from each other. I.E. insert some sort of insulator between the two.
Insulating tape is one method, quick and easy. A thin bit of cardboard would be another. I'm sure there are 10's of other isolation methods applicable here.
Electrical tape is AFAIK another word for insulating (non conductive) tape.

As for being too thin.... too thin for what?

Thanks heaps got some ideas now. :)
