From Q and A's by Fleecy on Amiga World
We do intend to have new products ready in the first quarter of 2004.
So, what do you guys think these would be?
-Amiga OS 4.0?
-Pocket Pc game cards?
-Amiga OS 4.0 SDK?
_a new Amiga DE SDK?
-something else?
:-o
-
Personally I really hope it´s AmigaOS 4.0. I´ve been tired of waitng for a long time.
I didn´t even know that they were thinking of making Pocket PC game cards, where have you heard that?
-
From their website
Amiga Anywhere Entertainment Pack #1 (Download version) - Everything you need to run 4 games from 2 of the best selling publishers of applications for AmigaDE and Amiga Anywhere on a PocketPC Computer.
Check it out here (http://www.amiga.com/products/).
-
just something? :-)
And aiming low doesn't seem to help...
*cough* t-shirts
:-)
NB: Fleecy, or anyone at Amiga Inc, if you're reading this, I WANT MY SODDING T-SHIRT!
-
Great.......
At least he's being honest about it!
-
Hmm, I am beggining to wonder where they get the money to pay salaries and such things from. They can´t make it on selling cups and T-shirts. Maybe they have a secret sponsor? ;-)
-
"AMIGA? Isn't that just a gaming system?" (http://www.amiga.org/images/subject/icon27.gif) :-x
-
Also from Fleecy
It has been a slow year for many reasons - lack of resources, the time it has taken to get the latest Intent update, prospective customers umming and arring, Microsoft warning OEMs away from card based solutions until they fixed the problems we found, waiting for PocketPC2003 to become dominant and waiting for the Smartphone product to become more stable.
-
Amiga Inc. don't have the money to make new products, that's a brutal fact. If they plan something new, it's another money raising scam like the I Am Amiga Club voucher scheme to pay for legal fees.

According to Bill McEwens deposition, they have not paid any salaries since June of 2002 (not a misprint, over 18 months ago). He lists 12 people as unpaid employees. In June of 2003 of course the contents of their offices was auctioned off by their landlord, a company they still owe over $140,000 to.

Damn, you beat me to it. :-P

How many copies of OS4 must they sell to recoup that?
Well, its got to be released first I suppose ! :-D
-
Probably it will be a new Amiga - logo sticker :P

As I understand it, the only copies they will sell will be to people who haven't bought A1s...
-

OS4 has been prepaid, essentially. Amiga Inc. must bank on whatever "DE" technology they have to survive. Besides, don't forget about the Party Pack coupons, which also promise a free update to OS 4.1.
Having faith in insepid liars is quite the trend these days, which explains the Bush administration.
-
I have faith in Hyperion, but Amiga Inc....well.....
Maybe they're giving blood for R&D money.... :-P
Still, the whole shirt fiasco...instead of 'new products', they should be satisfying the 'old' customers.

Their secret sponsor must be some cryogenic lab.. It seems that they're hibernating now - no need for salaries, etc.. just have a look how long it takes to "produce" AOS4.. :-D :-D
I know, I know! They aren't involved in OS4, almost.. :-)

Now that you mention it... (Warface searches his backpack) ... (still searching)
Damn, I have one here. Is it legal to stick it on a Pegasos? :-)
-
Hmm.. lets see
- A few Amiga stickers
- A can of Amicola
- Amiga-boxers
- Amiga socks
- Amiga matches
- 2 Amiga posters
And the most precious of them all: my nametag with an autograph by Petro on it.
-
@Hooligan_DCS

-

-
Didn't Kees have some Amiga socks a while back?
Maybe we'll see Boing Ball coffee mugs too? Personally I could do with a new mouse mat....
Am definitely running and hiding now!
:-D
-
a lot of people seem to nock the current amiga.inc over the sale of little things like jackets and mugs etc.... what most dont seem to mention is this trend was started way back when petro was at the helm wasnt it?
@anyone, if you have some sealed as new amiga boxers, sell them to me :-)

I have no problem with merchandise like that being sold, just provided it gets delivered :-)

All the stuff on AmigaMall is handled by a separate company - AInc just charge them a percentage for using the logo. So I'm sure it will be delivered promptly :-)

Absolutely. I'm always surprised to see so many people thinking that the release of OS4 is going to generate income for Amiga Inc. In fact it will have quite the opposite effect.
As soon as OS4 is released, I'm going to be buying a copy, then sending my proof-of-purchase, along with my non-existant coupon to Amiga's non-existant offices to get my $50 rebate (it was promised as a discount, but still...). 1300 other CAM members will be doing the same. So there's a nice $65,000 for Amiga Inc to cough up (from where?). Then we have all the current A1 owners and party pack purchasers adding to the bill.
All the release of OS4 means for Amiga Inc is another $300,000 to add to their ever-spiralling debt.
Lets hope those Pocket PC game paks are selling well.
-
@Ryu
Well Escom did those stuff in addition to selling thousands of A1200s,
a few A4000T and developing the Walker. Thats o.k.
What has AInc actually produced sofar (and I mean AInc, not rebadged
3rd-party stuff), expect for "super-thin-t-shirts" and coupons ?
-
as I promised.. here we go. Cool.. or cool-cool? :-)

BTW, my second mousemat which I use with Pegasos.. it's a C-64 Basic .. the one with free memory and READY. prompt .. custom made aswell :-D
-
@Hooligan
Could you put a link to the C64 mousemat too?
-
Sure.

All things being equal, I'd rather wait two years for my T-shirt than wait two years for my CSPPC to come back from DCE.
Yeah, I know, I'm horrible and I'll probably get :flame: but I just had to... ;-)
-
as I promised.. here we go. Cool.. or cool-cool?
Cooooooooooooooooool!
The C64 Basic screen mousemat is the dog's bits though!
:-D
-
Man, looking at those mouse pads makes me want a guru meditation mouse pad to match my guru t-shirt. :-D
-
Those mouse-pads look great. Especially the C64 one! :pint:
