I tried a pair of these at an Amiga group meeting back in the 90's. I think there was a Lunar Lander type game with them.

Are they Amiga-specific? I assume, if so, that they use interlaced modes for separate frames?

I used a pair circa '94 (I think?) plugged onto playstation, playing an early version of wipeout. It was in one of these public demos one gets in a mall. It felt like something out of this world, but I don't know how much of this impression was down to me being an easily excitable teenager. It would be interesting to see what software accompanied an amiga-specific implementation. More pictures and a video or two would be great! :-)

Playstation?..those must have been specific for the Sony machine.  I have not tested them yet but this model is for Amiga only and can only run with the software I assume..

I had a pair of those back in the day.... they might even still be in the storage unit. I thought they were novel, but the flickering was too annoying. I wanted to use them to build 3d models for Videoscape, but never did much with them.

I wonder what the "Creature from the Black Lagoon" looks like wearing them?

Right.  Here is a quote from our July meeting announcement of the Fresno Commodore User Group, "...for the Amiga, it's time for the game, Space Spuds, a 3-D game used with the Haitex X Specs 3D Stereoscopic Glasses.  Watch the enemies fly towards you!"   We had great fun trying out the glasses with the game and with the included 3-D still shots.

Very interesting Stereoscope was brought up as the new TV's next year will be upping their HD to 4k2k standards and they will be called stereoscopic and no more glasses :-)

Philips have a great example of one already although the price entry point is too high.

I remember some old 3d glasses from the 80's which worked very well, just heavy.

I also played/supported some 3d glasses that came with video cards backin the 90's, I'm sure it was Nvidia at the time.

This is a good list, although doesnt appear to be complete to me.

The RAF used to take 3D reconnaissance photographs during WW2. Saw it on TV the other week! It was a programme about the V rockets I believe, and how we located the launch sites and secret test facilities (thanks to 3D).

The problem with all stereoscopic displays is that your eyes must be focused at the depth of the screen, rather than at the depth of a virtual object, so it will never really look right when objects appear closer or farther than the actual screen.

I'm curious to how using 3D would have benefitted the RAF compared to using just a normal camera.

Had a pair of these (and a Virtualboy at two different times in my life).  The block you plug the secs into can support two pair of viewers.

There were several test pics that came with it, I remembered the kitty the best!  there were also about 3-4 games made, all of them PD.  I think you can find them on Aminet, but I'm not sure.

When I had my pair, I got the crazy notion to try to get workbench 3D, but alas, I had NO idea how to do it...:p

Except for Space Spuds, which I have already, I don't know what other games work with the Haitex X Specs.
