Hi,
I'd like to know if anyone has any news on the status of Amiga OS4... seems like it's gonna take forever.
I'm tired of PC's....
-
Not yet. A pre-release version is imminent. (Mind you, the release of the full version was imminent approx a year back)
And in 2001 too.
But as it's just a pre-release version, it's more likely to happen soon. It can't take forever.

I'd like to know what the deal with the CSPPC version will be. Will it run with mediator users, will it support a Voodoo 3 on a mediator ect. I plan to buy it when it comes out for sure.
-
acill: put it like this , i ran os4 on a csppc with powerflyer and mediator in summer 2003 , wasnt mine but it was the demo macine for the os4 tour (well ONE of em :))
so get saving and prepare :)

So I can get rid of my CVPPC card and not worry about using the voodoo 3? AWSOME!!! Do all the PCI cards work, or are expected to?

A litle birdie told me the OS4 beta that was supposed to be rel to A1 users before x-mas will come to an AmigaOne near you in the end of this month (dont take my word for it though) as for the final version ive heard it _might_ be ready by the end of 2004! again dont take my word for it but this is what ive heard from people who at least seem to know more then me :-).

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.. my eyes are actually watering from this, my god "rotfl" doesn't justify how funny this thread is..
Why the amusement...
Let's face it, aside from a "Merry XMas" the last comment from Billy boy, on the so called Amiga corporate website, was to refute a lawsuit, back in August of last year..
I realise the AInc are not the actual developers of OS4, but it's hardly encouraging to see the last real news from the corporate website was posted six months ago.
So although I think that OS4 might actually get developed at some stage - any kind of release date, like "before christmas '05" is a bit unrealistic.
Here's hoping OS4 doesn't make it into the next vaporware awards, at least not more than once more anyway.. ha ha ha ha and so on.
