Title: Indivision AGA Mk2 A4000/CD32
Post by: Iggy on October 01, 2012, 01:47:30 AM
Has anyone bought one of the new Indivision AGA Mk2 A4000/CD32 units yet?

I'm curious to know how well it performs and if there are going to be any non-standard modes implemented.

It performs ok when you connect it with the VGA cable via an DVI to VGA adapter although it shows some vertical stripes (as you can see on my mini review as well).
People had some issues with the DVI connection on some LCD displays, and also some HighGFX modes don't work as intended.
Good thing is that Ratte's SuperPlus (800x600) driver works just fine in any connector (afaik) and we're all waiting patiently Jens new core update that will come in future.

Thanks mfilos,
That's just the kind off information I wanted.
Thinking about putting together a 4000 and an LCD display is one of my requirements.

i've got two of these, one for my CD32, and one for my poorly A4000.
the CD32 has operated just fine, rock solid display, did give me a couple of heart stoppers with a completely blank display, but that was just down to the CD i was using. let it boot to the rom screen, and everything's fine.

The A4000's ill at the moment, so i've not installed and tested it yet on that machine.

one thing i did notice, and this also for the Indi Mk2's for my A1200's, it sets up something mental like a 1536x980 screen for the boot screen? not sure. anyway, this may be a cause for what i've heard, some people's screens to go "signal out of range". However, i've not expirienced this issue, and i'm pleased with it, it's an amazing difference over composit/scart upscaled, and zero video banding at all, unlike what i have seen occasionally with using VGA.
but like others i guess, i'm waiting on the new core for more normal screenmode goodness :)
