Another issue has reared it's head.
I have an Amiga 1200 with a built in CF hard drive. I also just acquired a 1084s monitor that came with an Amiga 500.
Is the RGB video cable that comes with the A500 compatible with the A1200 also? My 1084s has the round DIN connector on it's end with I believe 6 pins. I read somewhere about an A1200 one having 9 pins.
The issue is when connecting the A500 to the 1084s colors are fine, image is fine, when connecting the 1200 there is no red in the image and the image appears a bit more dimmed.
Is this a cable issue, or due to the 1200 output frequency?

Due to testing the A500 drive and ram expansion issue I worked out the cause of this issue. It is a loose RGB connection inside the monitor.
The A500 started to not show red as well, but reds showing on composite fine. I happened to wiggle the RGB connector whilst the A500 was on and the reds appeared.
Looks like I will have to open up the 1084s to see what is going on there.

Opened it up and pin 4 on that RGB connector is lifted from the PCB. The round disc that sits on the PCB is lifted also. Pin 4 corresponds with red video on the pinout for the 1084s.

I ran a trace wire from pin 4 to one of the destination pins and red is back again. All fixed.
