Title: Amiga OS 4.x News: Something in the Air
Post by: SysAdmin on September 29, 2012, 02:07:16 AM
News from Trevor's Amiga Blog

Squashing Bugs

For my sins I am an AmigaOS 4 beta tester, although I don't have as much time these days to diligently test all the regular files and updates that the hardworking developers keep churning out. Obviously all of the kudos and plaudits go to the developers and rightly so, but spare a thought for all of the AmigaOS 4, MorphOS and AROS beta testers - the dedicated teams of unsung heroes who devote massive amounts of their time and energy to faithfully test every piece of code, utility or program that comes their way. I know from my own experience just how much time is eaten up by the beta testing process. All I can say is, we your fellow Amigans, salute you.

What is the point of simply pointing to Trevor's posts?
And the title :"Something in the Air"?
Most of what he's covering has been known for awhile.

What really makes me laugh (or cry) is the fantasy "Notebook Amiga" that nobody ever talks about now... hahah unreal.

Hey, I've got a MorphOS notebook.
(But then, MorphOS is not Amiga).
A 1.67 GHz G4 (I only have 64mb of vram though).

I'm sending R300 cards at cost to any MorphOS user that wants one (since the 3D drivers for that should be done soon).

We'll have G5 support soon at a  max of 900MHz faster then the X1000.

And Frank Mariak (and possibly some others) are working on a MorphOS port for Acube's SAM460.
Primarily so we can stop hear all the comments about how there no new (read really over-priced) systems that can run MorphOS.

And version 3.2 is imminent.

The one thing I can say about Trevor is he's an asset to the community and I can't wait to see what he a Paul will build next.
