I wanted to extend a very warm welcome to our latest moderator AmigaDave!
A new moderator has been appointed to help Karlos and J-Golden with moderator duties here on Amiga.org. Please welcome AmigaDave as our newest moderator and show him the same respect and cooperation as you do all of our moderators.
Our "Terms of Service (http://www.amiga.org/index.php?pageid=posting_guidelines)" / "Forum Posting Rules (http://www.amiga.org/index.php?pageid=moderation_policy)" are being reviewed by me to determine if any changes, or improvements are needed now that Transition is gone, and if any of the members would like to make any suggestions please send these suggestions to any of the moderators, or me. All the staff here want to make your Amiga.org experience fun and relaxing. Please enjoy the oldest and biggest Amiga portal on the internet.

woah welcome AmigaDave I see moderating at aw.net isn't enough for you eh;)
-
Odd turn around considering you haven't been posting here lately David. Maybe you can inject some civility into our discourse.
-
Well done Dave. Don't slack off on AW.net though. ;)

I'm not sure how a "Chef" can be an effective head guy thingy for Amiga.org.
Just saying...
And where's Argo?

I'm really cooking, Amiga.org is like fine dining and tastes good!
:)
-
So where's Argo?
I am pretty happy with the site and can't really think of anything to change but i ask you to be careful in making too many changes. The last thing you should do is make the place boring.

@Pyromania
Good call. :)
-
Looks like Argo left Amiga. Congrats and welcome, AmigaDave.

I expect Argo to pop his head in and say hi sooner or later. Don't worry your favorite Amiga site will not change much. Only positive improvements will happen down the yellow brick road.

Congrats and welcome AmigaDave :D

@SACC-guy,
No, I am not a moderator at MorphZone.org, though I used to post a lot of messages in the forums there.
@Everyone else,
Thank you all for the warm welcome. It is actually a much better response than I had expected.
As I told Pyromania when offered the position of moderator here, I am not sure how much time I can devote to moderator duties here, but will do my best to help out when ever I can. In my opinion, every little bit helps and that is what keeps the Amiga community going as one of the 7 wonders of the computing world.
The goal of any moderator is to encourage all members to moderate themselves, so the forums can be "Self Moderating" as much as possible and the moderators step in as little as possible. We are all adults here, or at least that is the perception by most of us. I would ask that even though almost all of us are adults, that we would keep this site "Family Friendly" and refrain from profanity. I have a 10 year old Grandson who is a new Amiga user who may visit this and other Amiga forum sites occasionally, so please keep this in mind when posting on the forums.
I know that disagreements arise from time to time between members, but please do not engage in personal attacks on the forums. If you feel that you must attack or defend yourself in writing, please do it through PMail or private emails and not on a public forum for all to see.
We have a small community and should take care of each other, not fight with each other, and attempt to gain back as many former Amiga users and programmers as possible to keep the Amiga community alive.
I have so many examples of former Amiga users who have left, or decided to not return to the Amiga community because of all the fighting and insults they see on the many Amiga forums. Each of us share the responsibility of either enticing these people to return, or driving them and more away now and in the future. I hope all of you will join me in deciding to work toward bringing more of our former Amiga users back to this tiny community, by stopping all the senseless fighting and insults that are responsible for driving so many good people away (including myself for the past +/- 8 months).
Thanks again for the welcome, and I promise to do my best as a moderator here to make Amiga.org the best it can be.
Thank you Pyromania for the nice announcement to welcome me here. Also for your invitation to become a moderator here and the confidence in me to provide help to the existing excellent moderators already working hard here.
To all members, be kind to each other, even when you are expressing opposing opinions.:argue:

@Dave,
Congrats! Better you than me, Sir. ;)
-
Congrats my friend!

This is a step in the right direction. I miss Piru and resent the drama that made him leave. I still enjoy this forum and having you as a moderator will definitely help it to be a better place for Amigans.
-
Congratulations!
-
Grats, AmigaDave. You're a very helpful and knowledgeable feller around here, so you'll no doubt do very well.
-
Congrats to AmigaDave - a fine choice IMHO. :)
-
Piru's gone? That's lame.

Did I miss something?
Just start a thread titled "OS4 BENCHMARKS ON NEW NETBOOK" and he'll be back.

Hmm, didn't know Piru had left. That's sad indeed. I hope he comes back.

@amigadave
Opps, my mistake, but go for it! The amiga hat trick, mod on three sites.
I think if anyone can do it, you'll do great.
-
I don't know that he's gone forever but he wasn't happy about the drama that shut down Amiga.org a while back. Here is the thread: http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=62283 He hasn't posted here since.
