Well, I finally got around to installing my Multifacecard III. I haven't done much testing, but so far, testing at 19200 with AE, it has done well. This was running 16 color ClassicWB 3.5. With the onboard serial, I had to set my screenmode prefs to 4 color or lower, and for some reason, could only have a successful transfer to the ram drive. Transfers to the HD directly would always fail. I tried a transfer at 115200, with the new card, but it failed. That is running 16 color, however. I haven't tried at that rate set to say, 4 color, but will. I don't even know if the screenmode prefs make any difference with this card, or not. I do know, that it works fine at 115200, 16 color, just browsing the Amiga, and the switches to different partitions/folders was instant and smooth. I will keep testing it. It may not be any better, but so far, seems promising, and worth the $40 I paid for it. I would eventually like to experiment with Parnet.

http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/multiface3 says it uses MC68681P
http://www.nswwrecks.info/Information/DUART_Manual.pdf says the FIFO is 3 characters long
HOW it fails may be of use to determine why it fails. But I suspect DMA collision or similar.
