No, what you want is an A3000T/A4000/T with a CSPPC 604e/060, a Mediator with Radeon 9200 running OS 4.1; that's what you want...

There are a couple of A4000s on offer down under if anyone's interested:
http://www.lemonamiga.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10495

really I don't have room for one... so I'd have to MAKE room.  But, what I'd really like to see is NEW replacement A1200 motherboards with 68060.  Maybe also a new (physically compatible) case (this should be the easy part), we could call it the A1600?

Some time ago I saw for sale an adapter to use an Amiga keyboard on a PC (yes not the other way around), I'd quite like to play with that now but I can't find it again :(

@Xanxi I still have my old 500+ somewhere, I'm not attached to it.

A bit small, POWER7+ has 80MB cache.  IBM mainframes have hundreds of MB of L4 cache.

As an aside I just got a new laptop.  It has as much cache as my Amiga had RAM when it was my main desktop.

Now if one could fit the OS into that cache, then it would be so fast your head would spin ;)

Fully loaded A4000 with 060, Vlab motion, Tocatta and a GFX card. I'm over half way to finally getting it.

My A500 pretty much got everything I wanted for it back in the day...it didn't have a port free.

From I was a kid, the Amiga 4000 was always the "dream machine". When we grew up, we didn't really know why it was awesome, just that it was.

i did have a digital broadcaster32 elite, paired with an AD516 soundcard in a PPC/060 powered A4kT with CVPPC, CV64/3D, hydra ethernet, Vlab Y/C, couple of ultrascsi drives for video off the PPC scsi, a scsi drive for audio off the onboard scsi.
DDS3 DAT tape drive for backup...

i always wanted the Soundstage32 to go with it. but now it's a case of, what would i do with it if i did put something like that back together again? :D

now i'd just be happy to get my mainboard for my current A4k sorted and working :(

Does it have to be just one thing?

I've been able to acquire quite a few of the "always wanted" items on my list.

I still would love a 4000T with PPC/060 and Picasso IV.

I wonder how many people have someone else's always wanted items?

I have a Amiga 2000 BOMAC tower that I'm going to put up for sale as soon as I get the chance to take out the A2000 motherboard I am currently using in it.  These seem pretty rare, but they are quite heavy so I don't know if it would be on anyone's want list.

I'd love to have my other 1200 in a tower,  a 4000 Tower Toaster system, and a 3000 with Toaster setup.

I've had an amiga 4000d, amiga 1200 and amiga 500.
I presently use an amiga 2000.
I loved all of them.
The amiga 4000 was really good.
The system i really wanted to have was:
Amiga 4000 T with video toaster/flyer.
But all my amigas were good to me,
and I am quite content with my amiga 2000.

It'd be nice to have a brand new A1200. I think that will probably be my next machine, if I can get a good price!

01. An Amiga 1060... If I keep asking I guess one day I'll get one.

02. A tape drive for the 3000UX  The only item I am missing.

03. Amiga 2500... With the label.

04. Boxes for the Amiga 4000D, 3000D, 3000T, 4000T.

05: Amiga 1200 CD drive the one that was never released.

I would have said an original A4000T but only if someone is prepared to give it free of charge.

Amazing that one the most difficult things to get hold of was the polystyrene cheese that held the modulator in the A500/500Plus box. Sometimes the packaging is the most difficult to find cus its the first to get destroyed. The best box still has to be the 1200 Desktop Dynamite box... If only for my memorable Christmas when I bought the machine. Still got it.

Sonnet quaddoubler 50.
So that I could clock an A3640 at 50 MHz.

Fun thread! I have several things on my list:

A500 with Viper 530
A4000 with Picasso IV and all expansions (Paloma, Concierto etc)
Commodore 64 Game System
CD-32 with SX-32 and FMV module

All these systems are high on my 'wanted' list but I will probably never own them since my current Amiga and C64 allready cover all the needs I have and pricing of these items is just way too much (although I admit I already own a very expensive setup)

Now that I'm thinking about it - I would absolutely love to finally get my hands on a Video Toaster!

I heard so much about them way back in the day, when they were considered to be just this side of pure mAgic. I want one!

I think the next time I see one on ebay I may actually bid on it!

Some things I missed on Amiga were:
 * Basic multidrop networking capability for get-to-gether-and-code (or copy..)
 * Ethernet (later)
 * Memory protection
 * Decent speed, decode of a 100k jpeg in 30 minutes is not my idea of speed..

Other than that it had great multitasking, music, graphics, discs and connectivity. What would the base standard for computing be without Commodore's own chip-fab! ;)

I think the big issue with jpeg decoding is the lack of an FPU on most Amiga's - im pretty confident that if you grabbed a 386sx25 with a high colour (65k colour) gfx card & 8mb ram it would be just as slow as a 25mhz 030.

Yes that could be nice :) what do you think that setup will cost?

If I remember rightly, My A4000 cost in upgrades (in AU$, approximate):

$900 for the CSPPC (and it was an 040 when I bought it) + another $75 for the 060 (latest mask)
$400 for the Mediator 4000Di
$200 for the Deneb
$200 for the Indivision MK1
$100 for the ZorRAM
$100 for the SCSI to SATA adapter
$40 for the Voodoo 3 3000
$50 to re-cap the Motherboard and PSU
$120 for the Delfina Flipper

Other stuff I put in there were either laying around or got for free.

When I was a teenager I always wished to get an CSPPC (and getting a A4000 when I was younger). Having it all now I understand how limited the software library for the PPC is. Shame, as it was a very promising upgrade at the time...
