Title: Pagestream 3, not enough hard drive?
Post by: runequester on September 06, 2012, 09:22:02 PM
Got a used copy of Pagestream 3 for the amiga, but I am running into issues installing it. It keeps insisting that I have "not enough space". The hard drive has 2 GB free, so something else is amiss.

On a whim, I tried to simply install it to RAM (64 megs) but I get the same error there. The program, according to the install script, should only take up 11 MB. Any suggestions? Possibly faulty disks? Something obvious I am missing?

Is this really Pagestream 3.0? If so, it was buggy as hell. I can remember huge problems untill 3.0i (actually until 3.1) By the time it hit 3.3 it was a great program again.
Look up the Pagestream web site. You may find help there. I just can't remember specifics that far back - sorry.

All (?) the PageStream 3.x patches are on Aminet, so you should be able to get updated once you can install.

I suspect you're hitting a filesystem bug in the old version of Installer on the PageStream disk. Change the default tool (on a copy of the disk!) to the version on your hard drive, which is probably at least 43.3

Aha, I'll see if I can make copies and change that.
