Title: moving architecture
Post by: inoel on August 30, 2012, 09:13:18 PM
Is there any merit in the os dev teams using aros as a base system
and porting their proprietary software top of it ?

Is this not a good way to move architecture?

Both OS4 and MorphOS have a financial stake in maintaining a separate product, so no, from their perspectives it wouldn't be a good way to move to a different architecture.

Fail to see the point myself.  Right now I just wish I could run AROS on my up to date machine, so I'm more concerned about AROS getting up to speed that way.  Only machine it runs semi solidly for me on is an old X2 AMD rig with SATA disabled, which is a hideous compromise.  AROS for the SAM platform was a complete bust that never, ever worked for me.  Not once.
