Works well

What Telnet client do windows people use?  I downloaded a client with zmodem over IP support: Anziowin.  Seems to work okay.  But in eval mode only.

I always get a busy signal when trying to access this BBS using term and the serial to IP program (forget its name). Other BBS's work ok.

Am I doing something wrong?

What does a busy signal over telnet sound like??

@gertsy  Try Putty  (http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/%7Esgtatham/putty/)
or install/activate Hyperterminal from your windows setup disk (XP)
 (http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/%7Esgtatham/putty/)

Fixed now, was dropping as soon as the netfoss fossil driver came up. :-) Haven't found any other SysOp's wanting to pickup another message net, but I'll keep trying :-)

Syncterm is the shizzle for windows, the windows installer even sets up the browser so you can just click on the telnet link within the browser. No fiddling around :-)

I would not recommend either of the above, they do not handle ANSI correctly and what you are seeing in the terminal window is not how it should look. i.e. colours incorrect, scattered/garbled code.

http://syncterm.bbsdev.net/ is great, written by a BBS user, same guy who wrote synchronet BBS.

I recommend SyncTerm as well, the best Windows client for BBS usage IMO.

Putty is super as well, but I merely like SyncTerm for standalone BBS telnetting, Putty offers significantly more than ST does though.

Indeed SyncTerm is the best terminal ;)
