It's great to see that new boards are released for classic Amiga systems. :)

I'm not clear exactly what the SuperPLA does.  It seems to be a replacement PLA clone for C64s with broken PLA chips (by my best guess).

I have a C64 with a broken PLA chip so I'm interested if that's indeed what it does.

Looks like great news, there is something for everybody.
I would like to see the ACA500 with ACA1231 and see how it all fits together.

I may have to buy the 256MB BigRAMPlus for A3000/A4000, its cheaper then ZIP ram chips which only gives you 16MB total.

I hope the A3000/A4000T Ram expansion works with all SuperBuster Revisions not just Rev 11. I Believe my A4000 has a Rev. 7 Buster.

The new BigRamPlus offers 256MBytes of memory for A3000(T) and A4000(T). The full-size Zorro-3 card will be available from all Individual Computers resellers at 99,90 EUR.

It would be nice if the BigRamPlus works when installed on an A3000 Zorro III busboard!
Thanks Jens!!!

My A500 is modified to address 1MB chipram, half on the mainboard and half in the trapdoor.
Will that be a problem for this accelerator?

I suppose the 14MHz CMOS-68000 processor card will be installed on the CPU socket (68000). If I'm not wrong, the additional 2MBytes RAM will be managed directly by the CPU. So you'll have 2+2MB.
Wait & See...

Kedawa: No, that's actually what you are recommended to do. Any Fast RAM in the trap door will be disabled by the ACA500.

VingtTrois: You mean 2 MB Fast RAM (on the ACA500) and 1 MB Chip RAM (0.5 MB on the mother board and 0.5 MB on the trap door expansion).

Lot's of A500 owners will probably modify their A500 to have 1 MB Chip RAM. :rtfm:

@AmigaKit

So what A1200 accelerator models are you going to provide (to comlement the new ACA500) to buyers in the future? I'm curious as the only A1200 accelerator available at the moment is the ACA-1231/42 at Vesalia. When might we expect another run of Jens accellerators? Thanks in advance.  ;)

Yes, you are correct; it is a replacement PLA clone.  It's supposed to be more compatible than any other PLA clone made from EPROMs.  FWIW, others make PLA clones (like Eslapion in Montreal, Quebec).

How does one identify a broken PLA chip? I have a C64c that won't start - could this be the problem?

That's a relief.  I can't wait to get my hands on the accelerator.

amazing  hardware  just  fascinates  me...a operating  system for the c64 with a web browser  ..amazing  ..an a flicker  fixer  for the c64 ..almost makes me want to get a c64 again ...an the new sort of amiga  hardware  is incredible ...an all i really want is a usb connection  ...but if the wanna do something amazing  why not invent a way to connect a more modern video card  to a a1200 ..even a voodoo5  would be good  even without a ppc ..dont you think ??

I wonder if the ACA500 can use its RTC port on an A500 that already has an RTC in the trapdoor.
I still have one in my trapdoor expansion, but I had to remove the battery, so it's currently useless.

Wow, I've herd of ingratitude before, but this is a down right smack in the face.  If you want to be so snide, keep it to yourself.  For a one man show, he's doing a great job...

Nice hardware.

Too bad it's not getting any faster though.

Would be cool if he was, one day, selling an 060 accelerator with 256MB Fast RAM for the Amiga 1200 (if that's even possible, technically).

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but just got an A500 a few days ago and am looking for bits to add to it.  Any updates on when the ACA500 might be available?

Thanks!
