Title: AMC 2012 - the one and only amiga media center
Post by: phoenixkonsole on July 10, 2012, 09:46:40 PM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCkkV7lrEZU

The video shows the new windowed AMC.
Also it shows the new mini-player function.

All wishes for the last version have found the way into AMC 2012 (still wip)
This time you can use it not inly with keyboard or remote but also like a normal app with mouse.
If you wan't to use it like Frontrow or XMBX you can run it in Fullscreen too.
If you like to minimize and work while listening music or radio-streams, minize it.

You can customize everything, icons, theme, layout.

It will be a free update.
Target platforms are:
AROS, AmigaOS 4.x, MorphOS, Windows, Linux and OS X (=/>10.4 ppc and intel)

from my aw.net post:
so you can run all Linux apps and all Aros apps with AEROS ...WoW (http://amigaworld.net/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif)  (http://amigaworld.net/images/smilies/icon_drink.gif)  (http://amigaworld.net/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif)  (http://amigaworld.net/images/smilies/icon_worship.gif)  (http://amigaworld.net/images/smilies/icon_clap.gif)

I'd like to triple boot my Netbook with Windows/ AspireOS/ & AEROS (& win only because I need to run AutoCad for my work & nothing so far on Linux compares to it)

Neat concept, not yet tried it.  What does it offer that say an AppleTV, Roku or Xbox 360 does not?  I love Netflix, does this support that?  Supports importing media from other boxes via Windows/Mac shares over a network?  DLNA?

@klx300r
I am using AutoCAD too.. I am doing it in Parallels / virtualbox. Both can be run in AEROS. Someone reported ACAD 2006 to be compatible with wine.. but it a bit too complicated fore me : )

Tripple boot  is possible. You will need to edit the AROS grub part manually. Windows should be recognized automatically by AEROS installer.. it should... AROS grub would be overwritten, but if you copied grub.cfg from AROS, open it in an editor and add the AROS menuentries to the grub.cfg of AEROS. I will offer an automatic "add AROS to Grub" later.

@Duce
Out of the box we have no Netflix support. We allow 3rd party plugins. So it could be done. Netflix isn't supported in germany is one reason i didn't think about yet.
We can contact them regarding API inclusion. Why not..

Nice work Phoenixconsole, you rock...

This is fantastic work. An amiga gui with no driver problems that works on virtually any hardware, can do modern browsing and everything else amiga like?

Thats beautiful. Thank you.
