Hi,
A good friend of mine lives several thousand kilometers away from me, and we're looking for some two player video games to play over a peer-to-peer setup.
We like the old 8-bit classics like Atari 2600 combat, Intellivision baseball, and strategy games like boardgames, chess, etc. Quick games that can will be complete in anything from five minutes to an hour at most.
We are not looking for first person shooters, or blood filled games. Might consider them if they are first person but killing is not the main focus.
We are not looking to sign up to a central service, or games server. We would like the games to be peer-to-peer (direct computer to computer) if possible.
Also, preferably something that is super easy to set up. My friend is not super technical. I tried to get kaillera MAME p2p working between our machines and this was a real chore.
Freeware, open source, public domain stuff would be even better.
Ideally, it would be awesome if there was some way to play Atari 2600 games with each other online, but I've investigated that and there doesn't seem to be a good developed emulator with this feature.
He only has a Windows XP computer so that would be our limiting factor.
Can anyone recommend titles?
Thanks.
