Title: Barbarian
Post by: orcish75 on June 10, 2012, 01:27:23 AM
Ha ha! :laugh1: I had to laugh. I was channel surfing on TV tonight and one of the movie channels had "Red Sonja" on it. I immediately recognised some of the sounds from the film. Palace Software had sampled just about all of the sfx for Barbarian from this, most notably, the "Hee-Yah" sample when you do the decapitation move and the sounds when the swords clash.

Any other games you can think of where the sounds/plot/gfx etc had been blatantly ripped off?

The arcade version of Golden Axe uses samples from First Blood for the enemy death cries.
You can even hear the helicopter in the background in one of the samples.

Hmm, haven't played Golden Axe in a while, I'm gonna fire up MAME tonight and check it out!  :swords:
