Interesting a500. What's the name of the 8mb fast expansion?. Is it recently manufactured like the recent a1200 accelerators?

Yep, brand new. Bought through Tom on Amibay. Have heard that he'll be selling them via Amigakit soon.

It's not autconfig so have to use autoaddram (I think that's the name) in your startup. Has an additional file that you put the memory range in with. Annoying is I cant use the 2MB on the A590 with it as it clashes :-/

Indeed, interesting 8Mb fastram upgrade. It seems to be pretty new. Could you give us some information about it?

Of all of the Amigas I've upgraded, the A500+ was probably my favorite.  I had an internal '030 upgrade for a while and an Ethernet board attached via a hand-wirewrapped Zorro expansion board, running OS3.1 and browsing with iBrowse.

I have 2 of Tom's adapters.  A 4M in my A1000 and an 8M in my A500.
Great little pieces of kit (as they say).
True, they don't autoconfig.
But the autoaddram program is easy to use.
(In a weird way it's a bit nicer in that you don't have to disable the RAM for the few games that don't like FAST RAM.  Just boot from their floppy and there is no FAST RAM..  Of course, most people will just use WHDLoad for those nowadays..)

Amigakit is really busy, but they did say they were working with Tom, so hopefully we will be able to get them from Amigakit soon, and I think they said they were looking at the RAM/IDE version.

I really like the idea of Amigakit selling some custom hardware themselves (like this eventually and their MAS Player MP3 device which is available now), and I'm glad Tom's boards will be getting more love.. ;-)

Nice looking 500+!
I have never seen one of those in the flesh.  Seems like we went from A500 to A1200, at least where I was...

My 500 also has 2M CHIP (1M hack, and a Megachip) and 8M fast.
No hard drive for it tho.
I do have an AEHD high density (non-standard) external floppy, and WB (still 1.3) runs pretty good from floppy.  :-)

Loving the 3rd party mods, just can't get enough. My original Amiga was just a 500 so it's nice to have a plus.

A few more things to go, first battle is solving this LCD / button cable(s) and how to fit it all in the case :-)

Love hearing stories and looking at pictures, can't get enough.

@Tone007 that would be one of my end goals, a network card and a accelerator card of some sort. Was thinking of a tower project but not sure about that.

@desiv thanks, here it was the A1500, would love to own one but never seen one of those in NZ. Actually Amiga gear seems hard to come by, even car boot, garage sales are usually full of junk. I keep my fingers crossed though :-)
