I wounder what program (on the amiga) I need and how to config that program and how to config the pc to transfeare files betwen my A1200T BPPC 603e/210 060/50 80MB and a PC laptop with WindowsXP.
I do got a Ethelink PCMCIA card (10/100 Mbits) in my amiga.
Ow, do anybody know how to build or tog get the instructions to build a 4-player adapter to my amig?
Thank's for answering.

Buy a "crossover" Ethernet cable to connect the PC directly to the Amiga. Or buy a regular Ethernet cable and a hub to make the connection. Use Samba or FTP to transfer files. Samba is difficult to get running. For FTP, all you need is to have one of the machines act as a server (with ftpd) and run a client on the other machine.

I believe you need Samba for the Amiga. A google should turn something up. Oh, and cnet.device off aminet, to drive the network card.
If there is no hub on the network, you will need a crossover cable to connect the two.

Miami and Samba on the Amiga
Give the PC, or Second Network card if your first one is used for Cable Modem / ADSL, an IP address of 192.168.0.1
Host Name Amiga
Give the Amiga an IP address of 192.168.0.2
Hostname Amiga1
Netmask 255.255.255.0
Install samba on the Amiga and config as per the docs.
In XP connect to network place //192.168.0.2/ALL
you can map it as a network Drive Z: for example
smbclient -l Amiga on the show the shares on the PC
smbclient -l Amiga1 shows the shares on the Amiga

Okey, here's the full story:
I have moved my amiga to a location where internet connections is as common as aliens. :-(
So if I whana get file from the rest of the world I have to download the files I want with my laptop pc on another location and take the laptop with me and connect it to the amiga and transfear the files.
End of story.
I don't have samba.
But I do have MiamiDX demo version, Genesis fullversion and a ftp program (freeware).
So I probably need to have the pc to act as a ftp server, but how and what programs do I need?

There is a Web/FTP server built into XO, but I have no idea how to use it...

GPT griped:
...I don't have samba.
;-) Dude, Samba is free download from http://www.amigasamba.org (http://www.amigasamba.org). They are also the best resource for documentation, along with other network tools. A few things to watch for:
;-) Samba's configuration file requires linux/unix style directory paths when defining shares, instead of Amiga style paths. Thus "Work:Quixote" would need to be "/Work/Quixote".
;-) Also, one of the Samba demons (SMBD) requires a user ID of zero in order for it to run. This means that Genesis needs to run as "root" instead of as "user".
:-) Give it a try and let us know how you fare. I have my A3000 and A4000 networked to my PC with Samba, and their defined shares appear in the PC's Network Neighborhood just as if they were other PC's. SMBFS (from the above link) allows the 'miggies to mount each other's and the PC's shares as well. They appear on my Workbench just like any other drives.
:-D Good luck, and Merry Christmas!
