Title: Best VGA Monitor Driver
Post by: XDelusion on May 27, 2012, 08:45:14 PM
I have one of those Dell monitors that can display Amiga screen modes (well double scan not so well), and I am wondering what is the best monitor to use with these or VGA monitors in general?

So far the best one I have tried would be this one:

My main focus is OctaMED Sound Studio, so I don't need to worry about gaming...

If your monitor and Amiga works with HighGfx natively that is the highest possible resolution I think you can get and is quite rare. If you want to go further you need a graphics card or Indivision MkII.

So much depends on exactly what your running, which machine, OS, etc.
I used to run Super72 with 3.1 and 3.5 for a killer 800x600 when tweaked with a utility called MonEd. This was on an A1200 to a CBM 1942 monitor, but I also used it with an NEC 3D for while.
Pay close attention to the part about MonEd. Without it, the Super72 was a mess.

I also have a NEC 3d. it can do 15.75kHz, 31.5 khz but can also go up-to 38 kHz.

It is a very flexible monitor to have around.  Especially for amiga users
