Yeah there were some impressive games late i8n the miggys life.Onescapee is very good but a hardrive is needed as there was a bug in some copies(mine) that never gave you the save codes.Capital punishement is another game from this period it's like mortal kombat and streetfighter.Peter spinazes Theseus and the Minotaur was a quality game too.Alien f1 was a good formula one game.Genetic species is a fps game though the 3d is fake in it.vulcan software released quite a few games at the time.T-zero is an r-type style game by clickboom.Dafel bloodlines is one game that is finished but unreleased sadly.Recently I believe there is a side scrolling shoot em up ala contra etc that was released.I think it's available at software hut.Sorry to hear about the heart attack but it sounds like your doing better now.Amigas are known for their curative prowess.LOL

Lemon Amiga is the best place to look for games
You can search by the year they were released so it is easier to find titles that came our later.
I always wanted to try virual karting for some reason.
-
here you got a list of unreleased games http://eager.back2roots.org/UNREL.html
and here some unreleased but sources found http://www.abime.net/agtw/list
have fun !

thanks had a look around ..actually looking for a game i had years ago
disks are dead now ..pango fun ..bit like lemmings sort of ..havent seen a whdownload version or any version of it any where yet ..
-
hope you can find that ppc/060 that you are apparently after, coz there are quite some great games released for ppc+bvision. big names, too. descent:freespace, quake 2, shogo and wipeout 2097 spring to mind. as for AGA, check out Fighting Spirit, Exodus, Foundation and Myst.
-
pango fun is listed by HOL as extremely rare but you can find it at thegamearchives.com
-
Descent Freespace works on 68k + AGA as well. No need for ppc and/or rtg. Runs surprisingly well on 040+ aga upwards too.
Wild Flying is terrible though :) Looks ok for an amiga game of that time, but peeing into a powerpoint is more fun :)
Virtua Karting is qute nice though. Alien F1 (Ive forgotten what its called these days) is pretty good too. Nice graphics, and quite playable.
-
I never knew that. I cant imagine its playable. even after the first few missions, when you get to shoot the meteor field, the game started to slow down even on my system.
off-topic, but couldnt resist :)
dont forget extreme racing. that game is a really nice mario kart clone.
-
Ultimate Xtreme Racing is the sh*t! :)

actually i liked wildflying ..though i just let it run like a screensaver ..if it had had a bit of work done to it might have been pretty good..bit like microcosm ...never tried descent freespace ....only doom an ran doom2 off the cdrom original i got ...havent got any wads for quake
so havent tried it yet ..always wondered if forsaken wouldve been possible ..given that my 030 can run heretic ..an does a good effort for hexen .

got myst on a couple cds ..havent tried it ..dont think my 030 would be up to it ...actually got a 040/ppc an a apollo 040 ..both which sat in a box an then when i went to use them again after a year or so refused to work ..though on the ppc board the 040 gets hot but i get no booting just nuthin ..same as the apollo 040 fan goes on but nuthin ..could be ram as i have swapped ram to other accelerators ...but have tried the many various ram sticks i have to no avail ..my 030 has a 64meg an a 32 meg in the scsi ....was amazed that worked thought had to be same ..no game ever uses 100 meg ram so havent changed it ..be quite happy to just get a ppc/040/060 in good condition so i could run ppc an 68k software an games ..but i think the chances are slim now..
-
too bad about your ppc. could be something simple, like a MAPROM jumper being set?
myst runs fine on 030.
-
Looking at screenshots of Myst may be a little misleading. The graphics are prerendered. Quake is pretty much unplayable on '030, even with a small window and all the optimisation patches applied (which remove graphics effects, etc. so you end up with a much less attractive game) you get about 3 or 4 frames a second according to a friend. And that's assuming you have an fpu (doesnt run without one). Ive not tried it on anything less than an '040, and even that was unplayalbe for my tastes.
Tales Of Heaven is another you might want to check out if youre looking for interesting amiga games released towards the end of its commercial life. Not the greatest game, but does have a certain charm. Trapped2 is okay-ish as well, and in my opinion is more playable on an '030 or '040 than an '060. Hard to articulate exactly, but it just "feels" wrong when its completely smooth. It's like it was developed on a more modest amiga and the timing and whatnot doesnt work as well when run on something faster. Not saying that is the case, but play it on an '030 or '040 and then on Winuae/amithlon/os4/mos/etc. and I find it more playable on the slower hardware, despite not being as smooth. Im sure some people will disagree, but to each his own as they say :)

The peecee version only requires a 33Mhz 386.

And there's Payback (released 2001)...
http://www.lemonamiga.com/?game_id=2347
Demo can be downloaded here:
http://www.apex-designs.net/payback_demo_amiga.html
Works on my 1200/060@66 in AGA mode and is playable. I wouldn't play it on anything slower though.

quick question ..the payback demo ..downloading now...has a warp3d add on for 68k ?? ..thought warp was a ppc thing ..
-
WarpUp = PPC; Warp3D both 68k and PPC - of course 68k wasn't too fast.
-
I actually managed to get Payback running with Warp3D on an A2000 with a CV64/3D installed. Unfortunately, the game would randomly speed up/slow down and of course frequently crash. I bet it would work great with an '060 and Voodoo or CVPPC.
-
The only playable game with CV64/3D and 68k is (A)Descent, upto 320x400 resolution. All other games I tried did crawl. Payback was bad.
-
I patched a few things in the 68k version of Warp3D.library. It fixes some bugs and probably introduces some other bugs ;). It should be a little faster but it may not be noticeable in some cases.
http://www.heywheel.com/matthey/Amiga/Warp3D.lha
Warp3D.library should work well on any 68020+ CPU with FPU but won't provide much speedup by itself. The Avenger libs are for the Voodoo 3+ but are not optimal for the 040 because of missing FINT and FINTRZ FPU instructions. I can assemble an 040 version if anyone is interested. The Avenger libs fix some nasty Z buffer bugs that trashed memory and adds 020/030+68881/68882 FPU support (previously crashed). Make a backup of your current Warp3D libs before installing. Much is not tested so let me know what works or doesn't and any visible speedups. I have tested with QuakeGL, ADescent, Payback demo and Descent Freespace demo. I hear it works with Quake 2 as well (the queue size should be set way up for speed).
