Title: NEC SCSI CD-ROM with Amiga....
Post by: blakespot on January 16, 2004, 02:23:34 AM
I have an NEC SCSI CD-ROM drive (32x or some such) on the way to be used w/ an A1200 with Blizzard 060 + SCSI.  I have used many SCSI CD-ROM drives with various machines (NeXT, Amiga, Mac, etc.) but have never used any brand other than Toshiba.  Will this NEC drive likely work just as easily?  I know Toshiba is one of the most "friendly" drives as far as working with no hassles.

Thanks.

I have an older NEC 25 (2 X) SCSI connected to my A500 via a GVP controller with WB2.04 and ASIMCDFS, and have had no problems.

I've used several NEC drives with Amiga with no problems.  In fact, I have a NEC 4x SCSI (with the funky green backlit display) in my 4000 right now.  I just liked the green display, and didn't particularly need a fast drive, so it works quite well.  ;-)
