I am going to be brewing some lager in the next few days. And I really wanted an amiga related name for it. So I was wondering if anyone had any good names for a brew for the Amiga.
-
Boing Ball Lager
-
* bOing Beer
* AmiBeer
* 68K Lager
-
I was thinking along the lines of AmiBrew/Beer myself. :)
Persia I like the Boing Ball one. You could use the tag line of "the beer with extra bounce"
-
'A pint of Atari beater' (an homage to Stella Artois)
-
lol Lando I do like that.
-
Hah, oh, Lando nailed it.
-
Fat Agnus?
(nah, Lando's will do :) )
-
Fat Agnus might be a good name for an Ale.
-
Amber Ale
Akiko Ale
Budgie Lager
Buster Lager
Lorraine Lager
Padre Lager
Kickstart Ale, Kickstart Lager
Guru Meditation Ale/Lager

Kickstart Lager - Start of the evening with a Boing!
-
Flashback Lager, as you'll wish you could remember last night....
-
Miner's Daughter
Jacksbane

Must not post this....
Must not...
Can't stop.. Can't stop...
-------
CUSA's Amiga Beer.
But really it's just a new label you place on a bottle of BUD..
-------
Oh, I'm sorry..
I tried not to... Really..
desiv
(I feel so dirty...)
p.s. Atari beater is a good name, but I think Fat Agnus better been name sound to it..
-
Lol desiv you are dirty ;)
Yeah Atari Beater and Fat Agnus are good ones. Though ask some people to come up with Amiga related beer names and you get some cracking names.
-
A user named PhantomInterrogative on AW.NET came came up with Shadow of the Yeast. Again I like that one :)
-
Needs a Roger Dean designed label then.

Actually, come to think of it, why hasn't some brewery somewhere hired Roger to do label design? That couldn't not be awesome.
-
Minerbrau?
-
Guru Beer
because the Amiga had crashes and after a few of these, you crash.
:laugh1:

Kickstart Lager - Start of the evening with a Boing!
I like this one!
Other ideas:
Buster Brew 11 (or 7 or 9)
Cask of Zorro
Rock Lobster Lager

8meg Jumper... In reference to Dave Haynie's comment about the 8Meg chip ram jumper on the A4000 motherboard... Which went something along the lines of don't set this jumper, even if it says "Free sex and beer" :)
-Edit- Full quote:
Look folks, if the Alice chip supported 4MB or 8MB of RAM, it would do that right out of the box. Honest. There's no reason to change around any PCB jumpers, it's only going to get you in trouble. NEVER EVER mess with a PCB jumper you don't understand, even if it's labelled "SEX AND FREE BEER".

And here it is!!!

@Bloodline. That's hilerious!
Anyway i didn't like the "Atari beater" or any others with the Boing in it as i think sounds like a cocktail somehow. But i did like "shadow of the yeast" and "Fat agnus" A LOT!

Just updating people that the brew is pitched and it's now starting the fermentation process. Been some great names coming through from people across two boards.
Once again, ask a load of Amiga nuts to come up with a name for a beer and you will get some great names. :)
-
Try a pint of Rock Lobster. It's the beer with edge.
-
There is already 'Amstel larger'..but it's related to Amsterdam rather than Amiga, and gave me whopping hangover the last time!
-
How about '4096' a beer to enhance your pallet!

I was totally thinking HAM8 for an 8% alcohol beer, but I guess HAM also being a meat doesn't help anything.
...though Hold and Modify 8 isn't bad.
-
"Shadow of the Yeast" is the best I've heard here, though it's more about the game than the machine.
I was thinking something along the lines of "Ye old Scandoubler" as a reference to double vision, or some sort of something including the word Pixilated [ sic ]...

There already is a Hamms beer, and I think it is around .8

Fun trivia: the artist who created the Hamm's bear (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_DesJarlait) also created the Native American gal on the Land O' Lakes butter package!
And now, back to your regularly-scheduled thread.

Just an update!
Fermentation has finished and I have just finished bottling 44 bottles of......
ATARI BEATER!
Decided to go with atari beater for the lager. Starting gravity was 1.040 and final gravity was 1.015 meaning ABV is 3.5%. This will probably jump to 3.7% once it's fnished maturing in the bottle.
I also have a wheat beer brewing. That is gonna be called Shadow of the Yeast and I am hoping that it will finish around 5.5% ABV. So a nice strong beer with a nice strong taste.
I am also going to be starting a raspberry beer today. It will be a golden coloured beer with a nice crisp bite. gonna make this a strong one so looking for ≥6.5% ABV. Dunno what I gonna call it thought. Thoughts? :)

Wikipedia, the source of endless trivia, provides a jungle for Hamm's Beer:
From the Land of Sky Blue Waters,
From the land of pines' lofty balsams,
Comes the beer refreshing,
Hamm's the beer refreshing.
Brewed where nature works her wonders,
Aged for many moons, gently mellowed,
Hamm's the beer refreshing,
Hamm's the beer refreshing.
From across the rippling water,
Through the whisp'ring pines and birches,
Comes the beer refreshing,
Hamm's the beer refreshing.
Comes a call to cool enchantment,
Comes a call to cool refreshment,
Hamm's the beer refreshing,
Hamm's the beer refreshing.
Hints of lakes and sunset breezes,
Dance and sparkle in each glassful,
Hamm's the beer refreshing,
Hamm's the beer refreshing

Lemming Juice....(er....or Lemmingade)?
...and if you ever do other types of alcoholic drinks you could make some "Parallel Port" (not exclusively Amiga but retro).

Lemming Juice....(er....or Lemmingade)?
Funnily enough it looked like blood when I was sorting it out lol.

A Parallel Porter, at the very least...

A Parallel Porter, at the very least...
Hey...and if porter is made with malt grain wouldn't that make the resulting drink "Cereal Porter"?

You could bottle this stuff and sell it on Amigakit!
