Title: Dynamic-DNS services that offer Amiga support
Post by: dandelion on January 15, 2004, 05:44:16 PM
Can anyone recommend a (preferably free) Dynamic DNS service that supports the amiga - i.e. can offer Amiga IP address uploader software.

Is there aren't any, is there anyway around this problem using the miggy?

I use DynDNS (http://www.dyndns.org). They don't offer an Amiga client but there's one on Aminet called AmiDynDNS that works just fine. Just set it to run every time your TCP/IP stack goes online and you'll be fine.

There's www.l8r.net , too, that comes with an Amiga client.
pretty cool, but you have to pay a fee, just like dyndns.

DynDns is working great with AmiDynDns. All you'll ever need :-D .

I used to use it with my FTPd and it worked great.

I use "dyndns" for Amiga every day.  Nice and simple.

I use DynDNS too, along with a CNAME record in my domain putting to the DynDNS address.  It seems to work quite well, even though my Amiga isn't on-line for any sufficient period of time for the hostname to be of any use.
