Okay, so this is not my system. It is for sale. I wanted to buy it because seller claimed it was "barely used", "complete in box", "great shape" etc., so I got real excited. I need a new drive. I asked for pictures and a few minutes later my inbox started to fill up.
Well, they are asking $300 for it and there is the number to call, because I pass on this one. (352) xxx-xxxx (I removed the phone number, Google it if you are interested - I don't want to be directly responsible for some, let's say Doomy or that Scottish guy, what's his name? calling to curse at the poor seller)
No idea if they want to throw in that Commodore Plus/4 and the Radio Shack TRS-80.
This posting's only purpose is to put a smile on your face. No need for anything. I will say I find it funny how people define "great shape" and such. Besides, these postings and auctions are out there by the thousands so it is not news - moving along.

"Great shape" apparently means "my cat only peed on the outside"?

If a man wants to sell his crap for high prices or his advertising is stretching claims who cares, it happens all the time.. You guys want people to sell amiga and commodore stuff new in the box dirt cheap.. I dont understand.
-
It's entertaining to an extent to see other peoples ads and how poorly they:
a) take/took "care" of their stuff
b) price their wares

Dont forget most people out there selling c64 and amiga stuff arent fanboys and collectors like us. Chances are they gave it to their kids to play with or were neglected in storage..

Yeah, man. Remember, back in my day kids used to buy jeans just to cut and rip them.
Crazy kids.

If people say "like new" or "in great shape" and it's obviously not, they are lying to make a sale. Doubly so since the pictures were not supplied until someone asked.
and er... mental note to not buy crap from you ever.

Put it this way I paid £20 for a C64c not so long back. And it was complete in box and slightly yellowed. For the condition of the stuff in the pics I wouldn't pay more than £60 and that's pushing it. With the other two computers prob £100 if I was feeling crazy.

That is about the ugliest piece of crap I have ever seen. Those wood grain stickers are repulsive. It isn't cute....it isn't funny....it's an insult to Commodore damnit. Remove those stickers at once!!!

I find it a bit weird that people dont at least use a damp cloth and give gear that is that filthy a once or twice over. I understand not everyone has an interest in old gear, but surely most people would understand that filthy gear isnt likely to attract as much interest as something that looks even moderately ok. I wouldnt want to even touch other peoples stuff like that for basic hygene reasons.
Slightly off topic, but I wonder if thats a coco2 or 3. They look much the same, but are pretty drastically different under the hood.
