Why have two boxes when the first box can do everything the second box can do and more!
Commodore and others started by hooking computers up to TV sets for cheap monitors. Now the assimilation is nearly complete as the TV is absorbing the computer completely into itself.

CDTV was way ahead of its time.

The TV, or the DVD player, or the media player. Every device has a finger in the pie. Why not put it in the remote control too. Whoops just let brilliant idea #2 out of the bag?... Dibs on that idea guys. published on this forum @ now.
All these devices have different alignments to different studios/publishers, content and different technology. Every major TV channel has its own library solution and some with dedicated players. Chaos and madness.
-
@Transition
Agreed. I just wish we didn't need the Internet as a tether to do everything that we do. BluRay disks hold an awful lot. If Sony hadn't hobbled their own hardware by banning the Linux install when it was getting interesting, the PS3 could have been more... well... INTERESTING.
-
An iTunes ready TV? Yep, no brainer, I'm buying one.
-

You go right ahead, I'm not buying one.
"Broadcasters are terrified"
Yeah, right.
This looks like another Apple bomb (like Apple TV).
I leave the rest of you to buy content and devices from this profit oriented monster. Frankly, I'm not subsidizing Foxconn suicides.
-
Seems to me this could end up been another Pippin if they aren't careful.

Pippin?

Pippin?
Some crappy games console

It was an early attempt by Apple to break into the whole multimedia thing. But it could play games, connect to the net, run multimedia CD's.
It failed lol.

Hopefully me thinks, apple has lost it's mojo. I wonder if the majority of ipad3 purchases will feel the same.
The word "revolution" has been well and truly used by apple.
-
I doubt it. The amount of times Apple have dropped the ball but then recovered is rediculous.

Would that honestly make you happy?

Would that honestly make you happy?
Probably. It's the tall poppy syndrome. We like to build people up just so we can smash them down again. I kinda like the idea.

For me, big TVs have been dead to me for a year now. I have a 60" plasma that just sits there, only used about once a month when the family wants to watch some blu-ray/DVD. Probably a good thing since it sucks up a lot of power, not very eco-friendly.
I watch content from several local stations through my smartphone instead, free and legal. And there's apps like Crackle streaming some of Sony's movie and TV content for free too. It's all actually way more content than I have time to watch. And it's much more convenient to watch as it's on demand, and comfortable because I can watch anywhere. The thought of trudging upstairs to the TV at a specific time seems ludicrous to me now.
The question for me is does the internet streaming model work for companies, e.g. can they get enough ad revenue to cover streaming expenses and turn a profit? Or are they running a loss-leader just trying to make sure they don't fall behind the times because they are worried Apple will indeed jump in and destroy them?
Anyway, whatever Apple does will be interesting, but you won't ever find me buying an Apple TV or paying them a dime for anything. I do think this whole area will be turned on it's head over the next few years though.
-
I love my tv. 50 inch of pure joy. But I do think the smart tv is the way forward.
-
Apple would probably want to control the content then.
-
I would imagine content will be based on what apple deem suitable and also depending on what kind of fee structure they would use. End of the day it would be Apples service and as such they will have final say about what does or doesn't go on.
I am sure that the whatever hardware comes out will eventually get jail broken anyway. Much like the current apple tv has.
-
I have not owned a 'TV' in a decade. I see traditional TV as archaic as using a mangle to do my laundry. I watch a lot of TV shows, though; the ones I want to watch, when I want to watch them, and I can watch them from anywhere I have wi-fi. I download them the day they're transmitted, in HD. Some are crap, and they get deleted, others are good enough that they earn a place on my external HD.
-
You need an Android TV to watch pr0n!

Why do you think the big uk players have so much on demand content now. I love beiong able to watch live telly on my iphone provided by sat supplier, but you cant beat watching hd content or playing xbox on a large telly
-
Apple would probably want to control the content then.
Exactly! Control AND generate a revenue stream.
No f*ing way.
-
Do people even watch traditional TV-type programs these days? Why transfer all that cow-dung on to the internet - I mean was there some kind of mass protest to make cow-dung internet accessible? Do people still watch soaps and mainsteam news. I'm so out of touch.
Such a rich variety of independent media, entertainment, information and knowledge from multiple sources and formats on the net already. Can't believe people still have time for terrestrial-type spoon feed programming.
EDIT...
oh, wait a minute, just noticed:
Probably a good thing since it sucks up a lot of power, not very eco-friendly.
I see OP is clearly still getting his daily does of mainstream socialist programming.

Yup and we in the UK have to pay for some of through a tv license.

CritAnime: Really? That's outrageous. I was born, bred and still live in the UK. I've never paid the BBC's TV tax - despite numerous toothless spam mail threatening to imprison me.

IMHO, a way to a future for MorphOS could be to go ARM and then break into (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showpost.php?p=683697&postcount=210) the Boxee (http://www.boxee.tv/) type of market. Together with Genesi's Efika MX61 they could become a Dlink Boxee Box (http://www.dlink.com/boxee/) competitor (especially with an option of putting a real DVB-T tuner inside). Start now, the OS is quickly ported if you cut the ties to the Amiga legacy, put some real effort into the application level instead, and have products out and ready for Christmas! ;) :)
(BTW, the Boxee Box is a really cool thing, you should check it out if you haven't! :))

Well done you. Does the make you feel all warm inside. The BBC provides a decent wealth of both TV and Radio services. I think the TV licence is very reasonable and I for one am glad we have got the BBC

I agree the boxee is pretty cool, but it is an appliance. I'd love to see morphOs ported to ARM, just not to compete with toasters :)
-
I've got a Roku box on each of my TVs; haven't had "cable" in two years (except for internet connectivity) despite them offering to effectively pay me for the privilege (for a year, after which they'll start raising the price). I watch pretty much what I'd watch on cable TV, but free, commercial-free, and so forth.
Both boxes have USB dongles for those rare times when I can't stream from one of the computers here.
Broadcast TV is dead to me; my televisions are glorified computer monitors nowadays.
Cable companies have royally missed the boat by not offering more stuff ala carte.
-

Please read my first link in my post above to get a hint of my view for writing so. Other than that, I agree with you that it's the "desktop" that I find most interesting, all the other stuff would/could "just" be the enabler (if it works out well) that could make real revenue and move the development from a hobby level to a professional/employed level again. Like I said in above mentioned post... ;) :)

I absolutely do feel good about it. I already pay more than enough taxes for so called "social services" which I never use, lazy dole-mongers, bailouts for bankers and wars in foreign countries - none of which has anything to do with me as an individual. Don't see why I should have to pay for your multimedia BBC entertainment too.

Hmmm, so what happens when you do need to use the services? I bet youd be straight on the dole queue to get assistance!
And have you never watched any television ever? Read a news article? Listened to a radio?
Have you any idea how much of the modern techie stuff you so enjoy was pushed by the bbc and tax payers money?
Don't be a cretinous sponger!

Apple's main hurdle and it's a big one, is the content holders (ie. Sony, TW, Paramount, etc.) are going to charge huge sums to license anything. I've seen what has happened to Netflix and Hulu. This pricing control has also put other streaming services out of business. The only ones that seem to have a decent current offering are the pirate sites. The media companies are so focused on getting everyone they can to buy their DVD/Bluray discs that they have retarded the advances that streaming services have made. Almost to the point of making them non-viable. This is one of the reasons Netflix has been looking into and started to produce their own shows.
P.S. I already have a learning multi-remote that can adapt its key layout. Also, my TV is my computer. It's also my newspaper too.

Apple Sucks! Thier products overpriced and very closed. Once you buy Apple you'll never go back....because you'll be locked in LOL

If they were overpriced people wouldn't buy them... Something is only worth what people will pay for it, Apple sell plenty of devices at the pice points they choose.
As for lock in... Not sure how they are any different from any other company... They even managed to negotiate with the record companies to get the removal of DRM from the iTunes music store... And they have actively pushed for HTML5, and their Webkit code forms the basis of some of the best free web browsers you can get! Prejudice, knows no logic I guess, Shrug.

Happy? No! The recorIng industry was well and truly burnt by apple and ITunes. It aint gonna happen with Tv. Go and have a look at the Tv programs available on iTunes. Our local Australian rebroadcasts are more up-to-date. That's saying something.

I'm happy to pay for fresh new content. Unfortunately over here the only legal option is cable TV.
Not commenting on lock in but in relation to technology can you surmise why the iPad 3 has such a resolution on a 9" screen? The iPad2 can download and stream hd video content to apple tv just as easily as the iPad 3.
Btw; typing this on an iPad 2

Nah! The recording industry destroyed itself long before Apple came along... Believe me
I'm very much aware of this.
By the late 80's Record Companies were making so much money that they started to attract executives who came from large multimillion dollar companies... Who didn't/don't think of music as an art, but a commodity like baked beans.
So the executives started to move the industry away from developing artists and towards producing cheap music that could be purchased, consumed, thrown away, repeat... That negate the need to invest in bands/artists who would take time to develop and this all we have now is cheap, repetitive, disposable entertainment... Music as an art has been expunged from the industry.
For the recording artist now, the only way to sell your music is through iTunes and avoiding the record company... That way you get a much better royalty at the expense of the massive marketing engine the large companies have.
Apple screwed the large record companies not the Recording Artist. :)

Agree. That's what I said. I thought.
Do you think Sony and affiliates will be very accommodating of the TV Side?
I don't. iTunes TV content tends to echo my thoughts. I can buy DVDs of TV series at Kmart in Australia as recent as the bulk of the offerings on iTunes.
YouTube has the free video market covered. iTunes can only offer paid content and so they have to stand in the queue.

I would guess he is the sort of person who thinks he should get everyhting for free. Looking at those comment he is obviously also a daily mail reading hate spreader

Services like iTunes and the like have actually helped the smaller lables who do develop talent and who share a decent amount of the sales directly with the artist.

I use Apple. And have done since Apple II. But the iPad 3 release has left me aghast. In relative terms & UX u get a camera flash on top of the iPad 2. The processor gains are gobbled by the ludicrous resolution.
How do you tell the difference between the resolution on an ipad2 & an iPad3. With a microscope! That's just ludicrous.

Any iPad2 will be less than a year old right now... I fully expect people to stil be using them in 2 years time... If I had one I would be rather happy my device wasn't obsoleted completely by the new iPad :)
-
There is that. But I dread that Apple will repeat commodores mistakes with the Amiga. iPad had the opportunity to continue the revolution. Apple turned it to "resolution"
I read that as "danger, marketing in control"
I hope not.

Like who?
Any of the smaller dance type labels.
Hosptial records, spearhead, metalheadz to name a few

If Apple were to follow the Commodore example they would still be pushing the AppleII as a viable product... ;)

Online music and video distribution channels have helped the independent artists insanely. Same goes for online books, apps, etc. It's never been easier and more profitable for an artist to get his name out there, and even more important: he's not filling the pockets of some corporate suit while he can barely pay his rent.
Standard cut on most online distribution schemes is 70% for artist, 30% for vendor. You may find that as a "well, all Apple/Amazon/etc does is provide the download and the transaction server, they don't deserve that much!".
Look into what a major label takes from the artist. You'd be shocked. In the heyday of traditional physical media, it was not uncommon to see bands in the top 20 barely able to pay rent, while the music conglomerates drank vintage wine off the bands album sales.
Ask anyone who was ever in the music industry can tell you how the labels screwed you in old media days, before it became an option for a guy singing cover songs while strumming a guitar to "release an album" via online vendors. Online music stores have become a revolution for smaller artists - artists that otherwise wouldn't have stood a hope in hell of getting past the "mixtapes" and "check out my MySpace band page" phase.
2012 will be the first year that online sales will surpass hard copy DVD sales, a stated fact predicted by the industry. It's a trend that is here to stay, and something old media are fighting tooth and nail to not give up. Frankly, they have no options. While some people live for physical copies for media, 95% of the rest of the world doesn't. We want it quick and we want it now. I can buy any album I like online now, and enjoying punk music, I can't generally just stroll into a record store and buy the latest UK Subs album. I can online, and have said album here for $9.99 within 2 minutes, ready to listen to, and even preview tracks before I buy, or buy individual tracks. As a guy who has well over 1000 vinyl records, it was hard to get used to for me.
As for being locked in to anything - don't buy DRM media products and it's no problem. Everything I have on my Apple products is on my Android products. I'm not locked down to anything.
-
If Apple were to follow the Commodore example they would still be pushing the AppleII as a viable product... ;)
If I remember correctly, Woz wanted to do just that.
-
If they were overpriced people wouldn't buy them... Something is only worth what people will pay for it, Apple sell plenty of devices at the pice points they choose.
As for lock in... Not sure how they are any different from any other company...
I'll give my most recent example of why I'll never buy an Apple product again due to Apple's anti-competitive practices.
I installed Dell Voice (a VOIP app that gives you a number to receive calls with) on my wife's iPhone and registered an account/number for her via the app. This app is available for iOS, Android, your PC, and whatever else they care to come out with it on. However, when I later went to sign her in on her Android tablet it came up with a message of "due to an agreement with Apple you cannot use a Dell Voice account on an Android device that was registered from an iPhone".
The sad thing is I wasn't at all surprised by this, that's just the typical monopolistic anti-competitive lock in style that Apple pushes. I remember at first you couldn't even get VOIP apps for the iPhone for anti-competitive reasons, so it doesn't surprise me they are still trying to control it anyway they can.
Without realizing this restriction existed, I registered my own Dell Voice account/number from the PC app first. No problems using it on my new droid phone here. Lucky me I guess.
Anyway, don't get me started on the emulators, etc ...

@ Matt & JJ,
You guys have to pay a license fee for BBC TV and Radio???? *THAT* is F*CKED UP!!!!!
And Matt is right and SPOT ON about the Record Companies screwing artists. Their big thing now is stating that it cost so much to produce albums and what not, but I can tell you, as I worked for a CD replication facility in Texas, it doesn't cost them sh!t to make those CDs and being someone that's done graphic design work for albums, typically you're paid by the *ARTIST* for said work, not the *COMPANY*.
And trust me, you don't get paid jack, either, 'cos they aren't. Only bands, like Metallicops make money off their CD sales and let's remember that Lars is still paying off his gold plated dolphin pool (someone will get this.....) That's why bands like Nine Inch Nails and Radiohead dropped their parent companies. Hell, Trent Reznor all but abandoned Nothing Records. How many artists are still under that company?
Fact is, the entertainment industry is criminal, to say the least and they're in their final death throes, yet are fighting tooth and nail to prevent it, but refuse to change or compromise. They just keep churning out crappy, bubblegum pop and fire bands that didn't do as well as expected, plus massive layoffs of company employees to keep their figures in the "black" where they want them.
Most entertainment companies read from Medhi Ali's private journals, so it seems.

It is, but it's obviously pretty easy to avoid, or so I've been told by my uncle who has never paid it, despite having lived his entire life in England.

Yeah, there's a few state taxations, here, that just make no sense and people don't pay them, but I guess I just assumed that since we have public broadcasting here, which is free, they have it there, free.
Then again, I almost never watch TV or listen to the radio anymore, so if I were taxed, I probably wouldn't pay it either....

Hmmm ... sorry to be the bringer of bad news but I'm english! Well "British" anyway, and I get the feeling I've been British longer than yourself as well .. you are 12 years old yes ?
It just so happens I moved .. hard to believe I know, after all who would possible want to leave dear old blight when it's populated by delightful souls such as yourself ?
So how about you stop being a cretin and tootle off back to your mums basement and don't come out again till you've gone through puberty - old chap!

You *DO* realize that my comments were directed towards Bloodline and JJ, two people I've known for years and consider friends, not some imbecile ....
No, due to the fact that your comment was unaddressed and posted in a public forum, I didn't realise that at all. However, what I *DO* now realise, and almost find unbelievable, is that you're attempting to have a private conversation in a public internet forum. I *DO* also realise that this forum provides you and your "friends" with a free and easy to use private PM service. Question is: *DO* you realise this?
who seems to think he's superior, since he's a "Briton", yet he's got an American as his avatar. Wow. You're just *SO* "above" me, aren't you? I love getting into a battle of wits with the mentally challenged. Then again, you're probably not worth the time I've spent typing this, but I digress.
Yes, I think I may very well be above you and that fact has nothing to do with your ingrained inferiority complex at me being British and you being an American - it's simply because you're not very bright.
You might like to consider the fact that, in this thread, I've expressed nothing but my dislike of the British Broadcasting Corporation. Notice the word British in that title? The BBC, for many, is a worshipped British institution. In many cases, adulation of the BBC simply boils down to the fact that it's an internationally recognised "British" brand and so some people get a sick jingoistic pride from its existence. They don't seem to consider the fact that the BBC is virtually a private enterprise that makes 100s of milions in pure profit every year, yet still demands people pay them an unjustified government enforced tax. The BBC don't ask for this money in a nice "democratic" way either, there is no public debate as to whether the people want it. No, they do it in a typically socialist/communist gangster-like fashion, full of threats towards supposedly "free" adult individuals.
I'm clearly not a blind patriot (unlike your average American) but I'm also not going to listen to the illinformed _opinion_ of a foreigner who doesn't live in this country and so isn't subject to the BBC's tax. He's not expected to pay the tax - I am. Clear?
And yes, imo, Jack Nicholson is one of the greatest actors to have ever existed. Far better than any of the popular lilly-livered British actors - with their "polite and gentlemanly" characterisations of British people. So bang goes your theory that I'm some kind of bigoted Brit.
Don't worry, Kiddo, there's nothing you could ever say that would ever hurt my feelings. Everyone here knows I sh!t bigger than you.....
Agree, if they have a functioning braincell, they'll easily recognise the colossal magnitude of your bull-sh!t. I certainly appretiate it - it's impressive. I must say.
Of course, you must live a miserable existence, if you have nothing better to do, than to troll.
I've been a member of this forum since 2006 with a total of 56 posts. I spend my life trolling dimwits like yourself - clearly.

So how about you stop being a cretin and tootle off back to your mums basement and don't come out again till you've gone through puberty - old chap!
You're not here, don't pay English taxes, so the same applies: no interest in your half-baked opinion whatsoever. So button it.

Hehehe ... I love it when people act all hard on internet forums!
Want a fight behind the bike sheds ? Oh wait I can't do that .. you're only 10 years old after all!
But when you grow up and mummy gives you enough pocket money, pop on down here and I'll introduce your head to your prostate :-)
Enjoy your sad sad life, I'm off to see if there is a block button around here so I don't have to bother accidentally reading your self centered drivel anymore.
And people wonder why the Amiga community is dysfunctional.....
-
Bugger! There's no "block ignorant tit" button ?? :-(

No, they do it in a typically socialist/communist gangster-like fashion, full of threats towards supposedly "free" adult individuals.
So wait, are they privately owned or are they communists?
You're not making any f'ing sense.

Oooooh, I got your penis swelling, didn't I? See, I removed my post, 'cos I thought it was in poor taste, but now I realize it's a moot point. You'll never learn. You're too uneducated to know better. If you notice in my post, I put at the very top, "@ Matt & JJ". Last I checked, this was an *OPEN* forum and I asked a question of two people, whom I know, openly. I don't remember directing it towards you, nor do I remember asking your opinion on this open forum, but you chose to give it to me anyways, whine whine. 8D
You *DO* know what open means, right?
Yes, I think I may very well be above you and that fact has nothing to do with your ingrained inferiority complex at me being British and you being an American - it's simply because you're not very bright.
I could care less you're British. My Mum's from Enniskillen, so I'm already one up on you. ;)
And you're right, I'm not very bright. My skin tone is rather dark, due to my father being Native American. Trust me, I hardly have an inferiority complex over the mentally challenged.
And once again, my response was *NEGATIVE*, in that I couldn't believe you pay a tax on broadcasting services. Again, this wasn't directed at you, nor once did I even say anything about you, until you got hostile. Your tone, from the get-go, was atrocious, but this is an open forum, hence why I removed the majority of my post.
I'm clearly not a blind patriot (unlike your average American) but I'm also not going to listen to the illinformed _opinion_ of a foreigner who doesn't live in this country and so isn't subject to the BBC's tax. He's not expected to pay the tax - I am. Clear?
No, but you're what we, who have served in the military, refer to as "Whiskey Tango". Since you're so intelligent, compared to me, I'll let you figure this one out on your own. ;)
Yes, I'm not expected to pay the tax, that correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm not, 'cos I actually pay attention, you *DON'T* pay and in fact, *REFUSE* to, yet when I agree and say it's "F*CKED UP" (I keep quoting myself, as I'm a bit confused if you're actually able to read or not!), you keep saying my opinion doesn't matter, but my opinion is IT'S "F*CKED UP" THAT YOU HAVE TO PAY THAT??!??
LULZ!
And yes, imo, Jack Nicholson is one of the greatest actors to have ever existed. Far better than any of the popular lilly-livered British actors - with their "polite and gentlemanly" characterisations of British people. So bang goes your theory that I'm some kind of bigoted Brit.
Brother, I can guarantee you that you're a "bigoted Brit". You probably hate people, for the sake of hating. Daddy must have touched you in all those private, special places when Mummy wasn't looking to have such a bitter attitude. I'm going to quote you verbatim in toto:
"I'm clearly not a blind patriot (unlike your average American) but I'm also not going to listen to the illinformed _opinion_ of a foreigner who doesn't live in this country and so isn't subject to the BBC's tax."
Now, you *DO* know what "verbatim in toto" means, right? I mean, since you're clearly smarter than I, I'd hate to use phrases that only stupid people understand.
And since *YOU* claim that you're not paying the tax, 'cos you don't feel the need to do so and it's unnecessary, doesn't *MY* agreeing with you, stating that it's "F*CKED UP!* kinda make you an oxymoron? So the "illinformed _opinion_ of a foreigner" that pretty much sides with you, is as eloquently as you put it, stupid???
:roflmao:
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Wow. You're a few short of a sixer, huh? You might want to go elsewhere. Them thar "foreigners" are all over the place at Amiga.org!
Agree, if they have a functioning braincell, they'll easily recognise the colossal magnitude of your bull-sh!t. I certainly appretiate it - it's impressive. I must say.
Nah, most of them have known me long enough to know that I'd find more satisfaction in correction of your English grammatical and spelling errors. They'd also snicker, considering that I pretty much agreed with everything you said, in 3 words mind you, yet you're arguing with me over it.
I believe the correct term here, is LULZ!
I've been a member of this forum since 2006 with a total of 56 posts. I spend my life trolling dimwits like yourself - clearly.
Nope. It just tells the majority of the people on here, that most of your words hold little merit around here, 'cos most of us are a bit more than a community. We've been around here for a long time and stay, 'cos we love the Amiga and the people that reside on the site.
Here, though, I don't want to bruise your ego, so to make you feel better:

One for me, Bloodline and JJ....
Did I miss anyone else who got butthurt?

That's what I get for not paying attention to the news!

hmmmm, each and every post, a unique pearl of glimmering wisdom.
We've got one fellow, who's completely lost his rag due to his own inept ability to communicate effectively and, through the haze of rage, he somehow sees every word I write as an invitation to have a physical fight. I guarantee you, he'll be posting his address soon ranting: "come on then mate, you've got me address...come on then...let's have it out!!! I'll do ya!!! I swear!!" LOL, hilarious.
Another, who's so dense that the implied irony of a socialist/communist tax being levied by government on behalf of a profiteeing business has completely passed him by. He's also resorted to the classic response of an ignoramus: swearing. (but not quite fully formed swearing - 'cause it's naughty and he might get banned! and that would be the end of his pathetic sad life.)
One whose posts clearly reveal his split peronality disorder and an acute inability to follow the logical sequence of events which led to our initial altercation. I've no idea what planet this guy's from, but I'm looking at his profile pic and, hmmmm....
and finally, one who you can clearly tell vaguely grasps the odious concept of Fascism (true definition: union of state and companies) But it's all so very vague in his mind, like the mist of dew shimmering in the crisp morning air. He can't quite get a grip on the subject, so he's taken the typical idiot's route and quoted a derisory one liner he heard somewhere, once before, the last time he remembers comprehending the topic being discussed. Oh, it's all so complex. Better just try to act smart and pull out a clichéd one-liner.
Wow, I almost forgot why I rarely post in this forum, full of "special people". Thanks for reminding me. Bye.

Its the new Fox thing - tie two completely opposite things and then apply them to a third unrelated thing. It takes practice to deliver it properly, for example:
"Those Communist fascist volvo-volkswagen-prius drivers"

Quick couple of points. A lot of our television is free but is full of advertising. The BBC provides advertising free broadcasts.
The also provvide a wealth of extra service and are the reason in the 80s that so mnay schools had a computer education broadcast.
Another point is that the BBC is respected around the world for un-biased, factual news reporting. Have you ever watched Fox news, I couldn't tell the differencce to that and the onion.

@Amiga4ever. Your view of the world is strange...
