Where is the Load saved games command in pool of radiance (amiga version)
I have it at the start of the game but I can't find it in the game.
Also is there a way to skip the intro and get right to the game.
-
I played through it last month, and Im pretty sure you can only load from the main menu.
-
I thought that might be the case. Did you find a way to disable the intro. Its kinda nice but it gets old after the 10th time.
Thanks for the info.

I'd have to doublecheck. I thought you could hit space or something. I played it in WHDload the last time, so I dont know if that makes any difference.
As an aside, are you looking to carry your characters over into Curse?
-
IIRC, you can load any of the saved games (A through G, or J) from the encamp menu from within the game and also from the Training Hall screen.
I have not played recently, but used to play it often.
-
I am not using WHDload just a version I got off Lemon. As far as I can tell the Load command just exists at the start of the game. The rulebook says that it is in the game at the training hall but it's not. It is v1.0, are there any patches that need to be run to fix problems?
I tried spacebar when the game was loading but nothing happened so I guess i can live with the intro.
I am planning to play through the series with the same characters, (if they improve grrr) some of them seem to like laying on the floor too much. If I have any problems tranfering them I will just copy my stats and use the modify command in the next game.
Well off to work.

Do you need any tactical advice?
How far into the game are you?
As an aside, if you want to play Curse of the azure bonds later, any character is probably fine, but non-humans will do better being multiclassed. Avoid half-elf clerics.
If you want to continue into Secret of the silver blades (the third game), stick with just humans. You'll regret it otherwise, due to level caps.
-
I'm running with all humans so no problems with level caps. I have good strategy and all of the original hardbound ad&d rulebooks so I know the secerets. I'm in the slums right now but about to go into the rope guild. Thats kinda hard (trolls kicked my **s last time) but I got the potion out already.
Running with 2 fighters,2 clerics,1 magic user and 1 thief. All of them around 3rd level .
-
Thats exactly the party I brought forth into Secret of the silver blades.
The troll fight in the slums is wicked hard. After that, things get a bit easier.

Of course if you want to make it really easy you could use MCE to edit the files... :-)
