Hmmm,
i'm having a few probs trying to install wb lite (bloodwych) onto a 4gb transcend cf card.
I've done this before for a1200 so i hoped it would be similar, however...
I only get as far as partitioning the drive on hdtoolbox, but the drive partitions never appear on wb for me to quick format. (even after saving and resetting)
I am using a600 37.350 rom to allow for 4gb support.
Also even if i get that far, how do i copy system.hdf to my bootable partition as i can't use dopus unless i'm on a 68020 processor (more than the capability of the 68000 a600)
Any help/suggestions from the relevant guru's??

Do all the work in WinUAE and then transfer the card to your Amiga once it's fully prepared :)
Also ClassicWB Lite is aimed at an 020 AGA setup, you should use CWB GAAE with your A600/KS2.05

oops i should have made it clearer, i'm already working in winuae 2.3.3
Edit: Aha, WBlite is incompatible, that must be wear i'm going wrong, i'll go and have another look at bloodwych site, thanks fitzsteve

You could try BetterWB, thats what i started with and just added stuff like hd_env, full palette, icons from classic wb, etc...
I don't know about that distro, but i was trying another on my minimig 1.1 and it was everything(that has issues with plane 68000) , visual prefs, newicons, env-handler etc...

I can vouch, from my own 600 adventures, that ClassicWB 68k is the best option for a vanilla 600. GAAE is nice and comes with lots of extras. Standard 68k version is great but basic comapred to GAAE. but it's got everything you would need to get you up and running with the minimum of fuss.
This about replacing that KickStart so you can use the other versions. Also think of getting an accelerator, or at the very least look at a way of expanding RAM, if your wanting to play with WHDLoad.
A great tool is Amiga 911 boot disk. This comes with some tools for configuring a HDD. And I would say do everything in WinUAE first and then transfer over.
Oh and make sure the max transfer is set right to 0x1FE00 for the partitions. Otherwise it will cause isssues in a real Amiga.

Hi,
i think i'm fairly close to having installed cwb gaae for my a600 4gb cf, i'm working through winuae 2.3.3 as administrator.
I've partitioned the drive and done max transfer value etc but once i save the partitions and reboot, the partitions are not recognised for me to quick format - no icons appear on wb. If i go into wb box menu i can see my partitions there and if try to quick format this way it tells me there is no disk in dh1 (dh1 is what i called my first partition to help ready for copying system.hdf in dopus)
So i added extra memory - chipram and fastram and rebooted - no difference.
I'm using 37.350 rom with wb 2.1 release.
What am i doing wrong?

@Snoozy
Under WinUAE try preparing the HDD/CF with WB3.1 Install ADF using KS3.1, hopefully that will work for you - make sure you ticked the tab 'read/write' enable for the CF when you selected it as a HDD
@CritAnime
CWB 68k is aimed at KS3.1, therefore if you have KS3.1 that's the best one to use on a 68k Amiga but for KS2.05 it's the GAAE pack :)

hmm but i thought ks3.1 was for a1200 or a600 with ks 3.1 rom?
My a600 has ks 37.350 rom?
Is it possible to prepare the cf hd with wb 3.1 install and then use on an a600 (with 4 meg fastram) with ks 37.350 rom?

I'm just suggesting to use WB3.1 Install ADF to partition and format the CF card, then you can switch to the GAAE setup to transfer the data, you may be having trouble doing the format due to KS2.05 which is why just for that part I'm suggesting using the WB3.1 ADF and KS3.1 :)
That's how I've always done it and always worked for me.
Steve.

I had alot of issues with getting my CF card up and going...
That was until I used HDInstTools from Aminet - http://aminet.net/package/disk/misc/hdinst
Just click on Partition Drive and thats pretty much it.. I had all sorts of issues with HDToolBox could never get it going..
Hope this helps.

I think i've just about managed it with fitzsteve method, ie starting off in winuae as an a1200 with 3.1 rom + to partition the drive and then quitting winuae, reloading winuae as an a600 with a600hd rom and then adding more ram in winuae and then copying wbgaae via dopus to my first partition.
It boots ok in winuae on a600 setting, not tried in real a600 yet.
Thanks fitzsteve :)
