Title: Getting 1MB Chip ram from a rev4 A2000
Post by: dougal on February 25, 2012, 08:46:33 AM
This is probably old news, but i found this guide on how to mod an A2000 Rev4.x to get 1MB Chip Ram.

It involves replacing the Agnus and cutting/opening 2 trace jumpers and switching another jumper.

It worked great on my Rev 4.4 A2000. I did not even know there was 512K Fastram onboard as it must have been disabled at some point. Anyway it is now addressed as chipram giving me a total of 1MB Chipram.

There was a similar hack for some Rev. of the A500. I did it to mine in the early 1990's, the only difference was you used the trap door RAM for the other 512k.
