My GVP HC8 Series II arrived today. It did not come with a hard drive but i have 2 SCSI hard drives laying around at home.
The one i intend to use is a 1GB hard drive. According to the manual the scsi terminator should be removed. Is that right ?
Any advise to make my life easier as i have never dealt with SCSI before ?

Hi Dougal, I have a similar GVP SCSI Card in an Amiga 2000, it is fussy about correct termination.
The SCSI chain should look something like this:
Term, Hard disk, Controller, Term.
The GVP SCSI Card should have auto termination for the end beyond the controller, so you'll either need a terminator for after the hard disk, or set the termination jumper on on your hard disk if availabl
Hope this helps and your setup goes well, SCSI Can be a pain but works nicely if setup correctly, be patient and don't panic if it doesn't go right the first go.
Robert.

Thanks Robert. It was actually really easy to setup. All i did was disable the onboard terminator power of the hard drive and set the scsi id to 0 and then i ran the GVP install software and it worked first go :)

That's good :-) Do you have any memory fitted to the board?
